Capital Futsal – for the good of the game (NZ)

Capital Futsal is a family of futsal leagues, academies, and programs committed to providing the best that there is in futsal training and competitions throughout the Wellington region. Capital Futsal is established as a Trust (not a profit making private company), with the goal to promote the game of Futsal in Wellington and New Zealand.

With approximately 600 players registered, tournaments are played at our dedicated Futsal facility at the Hataitai Sports Park in Ruahine Street, Kilbirnie. Men’s leagues play on Monday and Wednesday nights with women’s leagues on Tuesdays and Thursday nights. Business House leagues run during the 12-2pm slots and youth leagues after school. In the near future we’ll also be starting our Corporate Futsal Cup. The opportunity to challenge your opposition firms to lunchtime battles on the Futsal Court. Sponsorship opportunities are available for each of the leagues.

The park is also used for Womens Roller Derby, as a social community hall for migrant communities (several migrant teams play in leagues), kids birthday parties and as an indoor practice and game facility for local schools and outdoor football clubs (due to the poor condition of the outdoor fields and the cold rainy Wellington winters)

Youth leagues are starting after school from the 9th September, they will go for approx. 4 hours each night with 400 registered players.

The Wellington Phoenix/Capital Futsal Futsal Kick-Start is starting soon. These are 2-3 day Academies during the Spring School Holidays (end of September) and will have visits and displays by the A-league’s Wellington Phoenix players in the curriculum.

Capital Futsal is also home to Wellington’s New Zealand’s Championship side that competed at the National Selection tournament in Auckland during November last year and won the New Zealand Futsal National Championship Cup. Two members of that successful squad (Greg O’Connor and Victor Zaia) were selected for the NZ National Futsal side, the FutsAllwhites that competed at the Oceania Qualifiers for the right to represent Oceania at the FIFA Futsal World Cup.

Capital Futsal is the only “true” futsal provider in the Wellington region. For more information:
