Just wanted to ask what is so ‘history making’ about this?
Sutherland haven’t done anything any other club hasn’t already done in PL or SL, except represent The Shire.

History making? My point was, finally the Sutherland Shire has representation in the Sport of Futsal that it has not had for quite some time.

Laura,
I think what they were trying to say is that the history being made is – “the first games the new club (Sutherland Shire FC) have played in the Football NSW Futsal Super League”. The results were irrelevant. The same could be said for Botany Bay Pirates as well as Fraser Park, plus if you like Parramatta Blueberries (under their new moniker).

Sorry that should read Sutherland Shire FA not FC.

I can understand that then. I just could not see what was so history making about them fielding a team in all 8 age groups. I actually wish them luck and hope that some of the talent from that area, finds their way back there.
Blueberries, when does berries actually plan on doing anything for the futsal side of things.

This is hardly a speacial story. There were two new clubs that made ‘history’ on Saturday aswell, that being Botany Bay Pirates and Fraser Park. In saying the aswell, I wouldn’t want to say to much with the results you guys had, against a club that made ‘history’ last year with being a new club. 1 win, 2 draws, and 5 losses could be ‘history’ for the worst ever start for a new club!

Good to see that there are a whole heap of people supporting the Sutherland Club for getting out there, doing the promotion and trying to bring the sport into the spot light.
Everyone keeps whinging that there is no marketing or advertising of the sport, and then they bitch when someone else does it!
I haven’t seen Botany’s, Fraser Park’s, or for that matter, Sydney City, Quake, Dural, Northern Beaches, etc releasing any public press on their club this weekend.
Sydney Magic and Sutherland could teach a few clubs a lesson on that score. And no, I’m not with either of those clubs – but I certainly applaud their forward progress on getting the word out.

futsal fan, ‘worst ever start for a new club’ is a bit rich.
this is nothing against enfield, but how long have enfield been in rep futsal?
simply looking at the wins draws and losses tells you nothing.
theres a lot of players who are new to rep futsal thanks to these new clubs
sutherland especially, have selected players also new to futsal, mainly local outdoor players, were proud to be developing them and determined to help them be successful
look more closely at the results next time,
sutherland had some exciting games, losing 2-1 and 6-5 to enfield, a long established club
thks atlas, good luck to you and your club
sutherland just want to be competitive.

Zanetti,
Enfield is in its second year of rep futsal. only one year over sutherland futsal. I know alot of people who live in the Sutherland Shire that play futsal for other Super League clubs, mainly because of the reason that they didn’t want to be involved in it. From what they have told me because of the guy who runs Shire Futsal.
I think you will find that the best players from the Shire will never play futsal for Sutherland because of this reason. They are prepared to travel to get good development and play in competitive teams that will challenge for the semi final spots. One day, Sutherland may be one of those clubs, but not for a few years.

Wow Futsal_fan,
You really are passionate about futsal. Please be careful that your love for the game doesn’t get personal or ugly! We all love the game, no-one is attacking Enfield or any other club, but it seems like you just are up for a fight. Good luck with your season, I’m sure Enfield is a good club with good people in it. Don’t make it look bad by attacking other people, it brings the club down.
The best way to show your passion is to try to win games then you don’t have to feel like every comment people make is at you, you will have nothing to prove.
Peace Out!

Fan_Futsal,
I am not have a personal attack at any club, or am looking for a fight, because I am not in a position to do so. If you read my previous comment, you would have noticed that I have not said anything bad about Enfield. I have nothing against Enfield, or Sutherland for that matter.
I only made my comments on what I saw over the weekend, having gone and watched both of Sutherlands games in the younger grades.
I am a massive fan of futsal and think it is a very good development program. My original comment was regarding the amount of things that get said about Sutherland on here. Why aren’t there any stories about Northern Beaches, Parramatta Blues, Dural or Northern Tigers for that matter. I just think that guy that runs Sitherland is using this website as a desperate attempt to make Sutherland sound like its going to be the club of the year. I think a few people on here would be over reading about Sutherland!

Loved playing against SSFA. Those guys really put up a show and were challenging to the end. Sure to do very well in SFL.
Also to mention the venue Menai.. Was the best ground i’ve ever played at.

Sutherland’s stuff comes up here BECAUSE THEY WRITE STUFF. If Enfield, Northern Beaches, Parra Blues etc wrote articles and sent them in, they’d get posted too.
Sutherland, like Sydney Magic, do a lot of work promoting their clubs. All they want is to make futsal as big as it should be by spreading the word. Futsal4All does a great job promoting the game by bringing all of these reports, from all forms of futsal, to one place.

futsal fan, from what youve said earlier not sure what your now saying is fair dink but if your tired of sutherl;ands comments, this place will welcome any comments about other clubs, not just super league
the profile of futsal in prior years hasnt existed
you talk to people in the street about futsal and they look at you as though you have 2 heads
they havent heard about futsal, what it is or anything
one thing ill giv sutherland is that they looking at not just increasing the profile of futsal (more good than bad hopefully!) but making the community more aware of the sport which in the long term should be applauded
now futsal-fan, lets have a spiel about your club (or rumour about a rival lol)
