Vikings Futsal Association is pleased to announce a new Home for FUTSAL on the Gold Coast!

Having endured a few years now of limited playing venues on the Gold Coast, Vikings Futsal (The largest futsal organisation in Australasia) can now look ahead to a positive future at our new facility we share with our hosts Gold Coast Hockey (Hunt Park, Musgrave Ave – next door to the Musgrave football grounds)

Vikings Futsal’s Gold Coast Development Officer Ian Bentall said “We have been crying out for a specialised venue for our rapidly growing sport. Our friends at the Gold Coast Hockey Club have invited us to use a 4 court area within their club grounds. The new courts should be finished in time for the start of our new summer season in October 08″

SIGN ON IS SAT 27th SEPT 2008 at HUNT PARK (9am – 4pm). Additional sign on/information days are September 13th and September 20th, 10am-2pm both days.

A ‘Family’ friendly facility offers the convenience and comforts that this licensed club can provide its patrons – a game, a bite to eat, and a ‘soft drink’ (or two!).

The new (Hunt Park) Gold Coast H.Q. Of Vikings Futsal Association Inc. will offer competitive futsal games for boys and girls 6 years and older, open men, open women and a mixed competition for ‘Mums and Dads” !

For junior development there will be ‘KINDY’ futsal for 3, 4, and 5 year olds. For the older children ‘Academy’ futsal will teach them the basic skills that their Brasilian counterparts learn.

Vikings Futsal offers the chance for local players to represent their region and State in annual competitions at school and club levels, and also the opportunity to be selected to tour many destinations around the world (incl. Brasil and China) in the quest of improvement. Being affiliated to the International AMF enables our elite juniors, men and women to represent Australia in Futsal World Cups.

Courses are available to train new Futsal referees and to help introduce coaches to our popular sport! Originally a summer only sport, its popularity in its style of fun and development has meant in many regions FUTSAL is now played all year round. As there are many similarities between Futsal and hockey, Ian said he can see opportunities for exchange of ideas between coaches and players.
