Under 8’s – 12’s Trials (NSW)

Fustal players unite! If you love the self expression and intensity that Futsal games bring, then our club and training philosophy is for you.

Dulwich Hill FC in partnership with Marrickville Red Devils, are holding trials for the 2009 Junior Development Program.

One team per age group, from Under 8s to Under 12s, will be selected to participate in the program, which is the official development pathway to Dulwich Hill FC representative youth league teams.

Teams will train twice per week under an appointed Dulwich Hill FC coach, who will also attend the teams matches in the Division 1 competitions in the Canterbury Association.

Individual player technical development is promoted during our sessions, which centre around intense 1 v 1 to 6 v 6 situations – just like futsal.

Trials will be held at Steel Park, Illawarra Rd, Marrickville on Sunday November 9th and 16th.

Each session will begin at 11am. Players are to bring boots, shin pads and a water bottle.

Registration fees for the Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 10s will be $750.00 inc GST and $770.00 inc GST for the Under 11s and Under 12s.

These fees include registration costs for the Canterbury Association and player accident insurance, training gear and apparel, council ground fees, Coaching tuition fees, Family pass to Dulwich Hill State League home matches, JDP Season launch, Friendly matches vs other development squads and academy’s and player profiling and reporting.

sorry 1v1 and 6v6, just like Futsal?

another example of soccer trying to cash in on Futsal, and they call it development…. gimme a break

Let’s not worry too much about the choice of words, Toepoke. My boys (both keen futsal players) were coached by Dulwich Hill last outdoor season and I must say, unlike, most outdoor coaches, they have respect for ball skills in the same way as futsal coaches generally do. Also, they’re one of the few clubs where kids are picked on merit by professional coaches with no connections to the players. No dads picking their sons and their sons’ mates – unlike most other clubs at junior level.

How sad, under 8’s having to trial to get into a team and then pay $750 a year for the pleasure. How does this fit into the SSG programme ?

Agree, George, it is sad – ideally everyone would get an equal opportunity to be coached by the best. Sadly, though, until Football NSW or the government or maybe one of our mega-rich Socceroos kick some serious money in, it’s only gonna eb those who’ve got the money who get their kids some good coaching. That said, $750 is pretty cheap compared to $1500 at Stanmore Hawks or $4500 at AC Milan Academy (though admittedly those academies do produce some outstanding teams). Marrickville have actually got a pretty fair set-up – those who just want to have fun pay one of the cheapest rego fees in Australia ($130 last season) and the more serious ones pay extra and get the Dulwich Hill coaching.

You know what guys? it would be 100% better if you sign your kid with any team and let him play as much futsal and small sided games, DONT PAY FOR COACHES unless its one on one, otherwise you will be throwing your money away, the kid will ONLY learn from game time, and not having some1 shwoing him how to do stepOvers, the stepovers etc you can show him that in the park your self and feree of charge.
and BILL you think the ACADEMIES produce some great players? thats is very SILLY of you syaing that.. lets see them ACADEMIES drilling kids that cant play and lets see how far they’ll get them, if that was the case then why trial and get the best kids? so the coaches can look better and show people like you that the coaches developed the kid? come on man wake up.

Coach, I didn’t say academies produce great players. I said they “produce some outstanding teams.” That means quite a different thing. Kids in (some) academies get the opportunity to play with other talented kids, which I think helps their game more than playing with kids with little ability. Obviously academy or professional coaching is only going to be useful if the kid’s already got some ability. And yes, if you’ve got the know-how to coach your kid yourself, great, but most parents don’t. Also, my obrervation is that kids who are coached mostly by their own dad come under too much emotional pressure and suffer from it. Better to be coached by someone more objective and less emotionally involved – if you can afford it. As I said earlier it would be best if it was a level playing field for everyone and coaching was free.

Wow, are they serious? This product is a little bit like the item you buy from a $2 shop but pay $200. The NSW catches your eye and you open this ad. $750 to train in futsal, this should be against the law. There a plenty of local competitions which are so much fun. Come on fellas stop ripping poor old kids off. Let them just enjoy the game. Talent should not be encouraged in this manner. Futsal4all should never have ratified this ad.

Forgetting about quality of coaches, academys or problems of dads coaching, my point is these are 8 year olds who should be just kicking a ball and having fun not being put through a selection process at this early an age.

    george on October 31st, 2008 11:32 am

my son’s been in all kinds of teams and I tell u he has had a lot more fun in the academy, not Dulwich Hilly, by way, than with his local side “just kicking a ball”. He knows how to kick a ball but wanted to learn more
