Rare result allows Robina to reign (QLD)
0-0 draw decides the Coomera River Cup winners
The first ever 0-0 draw in Coomera River Cup history has given Robina SHS victory in the second leg of the 2009 Vikings Coomera River Cup at UCSC this afternoon. The end-to-end spectacle between Robina and Shailer Park SHS entertained all who witnessed it and allowed Robina to leap-frog Assisi College into first place for a well earned victory.
All three teams defeated Rivermount College who, while winless, proved to be the big improvers of the afternoon. Congratulations to all involved with the evening especially to the players for the spirit the games were played in. For full details click on http://www.isport.com.au/futsal/qcrc/
NSW Vikings Schools Development Program
Vikings busy raising the profile of Futsal in regional New South Wales
The number of schools interested in Vikings NSW Development Programs has sky-rocketed following the professional running of their Regional Schools Titles. The ever growing area of the Central Coast has been most pleasing for NSW CEO Bob Raso & his team.
Negotiations are continuing with many local schools & colleges including Northlakes High School, who will be one of the first to implement the Vikings School Development Program. This is a massive break through for Vikings as there are no other development programs of this nature in the region.
Vikings and Country PCYC’s
State CEO Bob Raso last week visited the beautiful City of Orange. The visit was to touch base with PCYC club manager Mark Johnson who gave Bob a tour of the brand new 4 court indoor sport complex which will be proudly managed by the PCYC.
To commemorate the opening of this great, ultra modern complex, Vikings NSW will run the first Western NSW Schools Regional Championship in June. Vikings NSW will also start a development program for the surrounding areas and will appoint a Development Officer to be stationed at the Orange PCYC complex.
In addition to this, summer futsal competitions will be offered, for both males and females across various age groups.
Anzac Park Redevelopment – Home of Orange Futsal.
Construction of a multidisciplinary indoor sports facility at Anzac Park has commenced.
The new centre will expand on the existing Anzac Park Facility to include a large PCYC, four court sports hall and multipurpose spaces for gymnastics, boxing, martial arts and cultural activities.
The PCYC will also include meeting rooms, rehearsal rooms, offices, homework rooms, semi-commercial training kitchen and amenities.
Externally there will be eight netball courts with lighting and car parking.
The project is funded by Council, the PCYC and the Federal Government. Council has committed $3.5 million, the PCYC approximately $2 million and the Federal Government $1.63 million.

Council has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the PCYC who will be managing the facility. The new Anzac Park Sports Facility will enable the PCYC to greatly expand their community activities.
