Cremen to Extend Brazilian Experience (NZ)
Josh Cremen shares some pointers from his Brazilian Futsal experience so far
New Zealand Futsal player Josh Cremen is to stay on in Brazil with Minas for another 2 months.
Josh shares some of his thoughts on the differences between the game in New Zealand and Brazil :
Life at minas is pretty full on. Trainings are at an incredibly high intensity, higher than any game I’ve played before.
Every drill is game oriented and is usually full press which keeps everyone moving.
All the players know how to get out of tight spots or beat their man with skill and speed if necessary.
You always have to think two steps ahead of your opponent because most of the time the speed of the drill requires you to do one touch or quick control then pass.
The big differences in futsal I found were:
- Power and accuracy of the passing
- The skill level
- The high intensity
- How serious they treat training, slide tackles, fighting etc.
- The keepers ability, long shots will rarely work.
- The amount of one touch passing
- Every player has a good shot and toe punt.
- And they chip/flick the ball a lot more often.
