Schwarzer greets teams at School Futsal Championships (VIC)

The FFV School Futsal Championships have started in Bendigo with 80 teams involved

FFV School Futsal Championships has officially kicked off in Bendigo with more than 80 teams in action across the four day tournament.

It’s the first time the tournament is being played outside metropolitan Melbourne.

Football Federation Victoria were fortunate to have Socceroo and Fulham Goal Keeper Mark Schwarzer on hand to greet the boys teams on opening day.

CRC St Albans took out the boys year 9 & 10 division whilst St Monica’s College came on top in the girls category.

Alphington Grammar won the girls year 7 & 8 competition and St Albans Secondary College won it for the year 7 & 8 boys.

The round-robin competition will continue over the next two days with finals each day for the different age groups.

Monday June 22
Year 9 & 10 (intermediate) boys and girls

Tuesday June 23
Year 7 and 8 (junior) boys and girls

Wednesday June 24
Grade 5 and 6 (primary) boys and girls

Thursday June 25
Year 11 and 12 (senior) boys and girls
