Womens State of Origin Futsal

NSW Women take on the Queensland Women is Games two and three of the Futsal State of Origin

Logo -Vikings (Large)Saturday 21st June sees QLD hit the fine city of Sydney to take part in the second and third games of the State of Origin Futsal series between the NSW and QLD Women.

The first leg was played in QLD at easter and saw QLD run out victors 4-3 after extra time. This game was an intense battle and one which has become a hallmark of the NSW vs QLD clashes. Over the past 8 matches there have been 5 draws (3 of those decided in extra time or penalties), 2 NSW wins and 1 QLD win. Once the added time results are added together the ledger looks. NSW 3 wins…. QLD 3 wins…. Drawn games 2 …

So these next two clashes at the Menai Indoor Centre on June 20th/21st will be tight, intense, fast and exciting futsal played by some of the games best.

Over the past few years players both sides have become more aware of each others strengths and weaknesses which should help both sides to develop game plans to take on each other and try and break the deadlock.

Even though the ledger is all square for now QLD having won the first game of the series only need to take one more game to take the title and send NSW back to the drawing board till they next clash in national league in New Zealand in August. There is a great deal of rivalry here, but also a lot of respect on both sides, so if you like futsal, live anywhere near Sydney, make your way down to the Menai Indoor Centre, Alison Cres Menai for some old fashioned State vs State, Mate vs Mate rivalry. Please make sure you WEAR YOUR BLUE!!!
