Futsal contract opportunities (ACT)

ACT Futsal has positions available for their Summer 2009/2010 season

Logo - ACT FutsalIn anticipation for what is expected to be the biggest futsal season in recent years, Capital Football is now calling on expressions of interest for a variety of short term contracts related to the 2009/10 ACT Futsal Season.

In response to record futsal registration numbers in 2008/09, Capital Football will this year be offering more competitions across an even larger spread of Canberra’s venues, some of which will host new division competitions. Futsal competition resources therefore need to be expanded to match our expected participation growth, particularly in the areas of qualified referee staff and venue managers.

Enclosed within the attached document is an outline of the various contract opportunities available for the upcoming season – positions include:

Competition Venue Managers (several) – page 2.
Assistant State Coach Referees (Futsal) – page 5.
Futsal Referees Appointment Officer – page 7.

Its a Shame (Fiji)

Fiji Beach Soccer fortunes match their Futsal ones, with a former official slamming the Fiji FA for doing little to help improve

Logo - Fiji Daily PostFormer Lautoka Football Association vice-president Raymond Singh has once again come out firing towards the Fiji Football Association in the wake of a disastrous performance by the Fiji 5-a-side beach soccer team this week.

The national side has not won a single match at the Oceania World Cup qualifiers currently played in Tahiti.

Singh said the losses were a result of it’s hastily preparation after failing to win the FUTSAL meet at home.

The Intiaz Khan-coached side lost to Tahiti 5-10, went down to Vanuatu in a close encounter 4-5 before being taught a lesson by last year’s champs Solomon Islands 2-11 yesterday to end the preliminary stage winless.

A furious Singh said the only way to develop FUTSAL and beach soccer was to let Fiji FA host 5-a-side FUTSAL and beach soccer bazaar at home.

He said in this way more unknown talents would be found.

“It’s a shame that Fiji used to defeat teams like Vanuatu and Solomon Islands in all levels of the game and now they have progressed in leaps and bounds.

“The only progress FFA is making is by boosting its coffers in the local major tournaments. There is no major foresight and concrete development and I will be in a dream world before Fiji manages to go towards the world stage,” said Singh.

He said other sports like rugby, netball, golf, karate, judo, volleyball and athletics have all progressed to the world stage while Fiji soccer regrettably is lying stagnant.

“Now the BOG is just around the corner and Fiji FA will be more concerned in running the tournament successfully and their finance becomes top priority.

“We are about to have the second major tournament and there is still no sign of having a national 11-a-side team squad even to play friendly matches despite Fiji FA talking about all the development work.

“No fruit seems to be bearing and this will remain until the long serving officials step down or retire gracefully.

“There has also been so much talk about districts getting their cut after the FACT which remains to be seen.

“I have no intention ever to serve under this current set of executives but my only wish is to serve in Fiji FA’s finance board where I would love to see all grants given to FFA by Oceania and FIFA,” Singh added.

Australia grouped with Indonesia, Brunei and Myanmar in Asean zone group A

Logo - AFCThe draw for the AFC Futsal Championship 2010 qualifiers was made here on Wednesday. Twenty-six teams will be involved in qualifying action for 12 places in the Finals, which takes place next year in Uzbekistan.

Japan are taking part in the qualifiers because the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) has designated the event as their official regional tournament and the 2006 Asian champions’ ranking will not be considered when the standings of the qualifying group are decided.

Lebanon were placed in Group A of the West Zone alongside Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia while Iraq found themselves in Group B with Kuwait and Jordan.

Australia were drawn in Group A of the ASEAN zone qualifiers alongside hosts Indonesia, Brunei and Myanmar.

Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines complete Group B of this zone.

Inner West Trials Unearth Some Stars

28 July 2009

With the completion of our trials for this upcoming season the club would like to thank everyone who attended the trials these past 2 weeks and the effort that all the players showed to call Inner West Allstars their home for the new Futsal season.

We had well over 100 players attend our trials over the 2 weeks and some of the talent on show was superb, leaving our sport in great future hands or in this case feet.

To all the players that proved to be successful congratulations and welcome to the club whilst to those who proved unsuccessful this season, don’t let this set back end your dreams of playing competitive futsal, work hard and we would love to see to you back again next season vying for an Allstar jersey.

FINAL TRIAL

The club will be holding their final trials for the u/12 boys and u/14 girls on Friday the 31st of July at The Homebush State Sports Halls (our home ground) Corner Grande Parade and Olympic Boulevarde. The 12 boys trial will commence at 7pm whilst the 14 girls will commence at 8pm.

Please note these are closed trials and only for players that have been contacted by the club.

The Inner West Ministars Academy

29 July 2009

The club will be holding trials for their Ministar Academy during the first week of August. The finalised details will be made available within the next few days.

We’ve had a large amount of interest in regard to this team and the way the club will be selecting the squad.

Simply the club will be selecting a slightly smaller squad in the u/12s in anticipation to giving an opportunity to the Ministar players to play minutes within the u/12s squad.

Whilst each week the u/12s will have at least 2 Ministar players as part of their squad, it is not possible in all scenarios to guarantee court time in the u/12s squad. There will be opportunities as players on a rotational basis will be expected to be part of the 12s squad. The club endeavours to promote and use this academy side as the foundation and base of its u/12s squad for the following season. The Ministars will also train as part of the club and will have training once a week.
