Futsal development squad named (Solomon Islands)

13 Young players chosen to be part of the Under-12 Futsal Development Squad

Logo - Solomon StarA Solomon Islands under-12 Futsal Development squad for 2009 has been named.

The development squad comprises of 13 young players who will be under the radar of futsal coaches in the country as they progress through their development in the game.

So far 12 players are currently in Honiara.

One player is yet to arrive and join the team from Yandina, Central Province.

Solomon Islands have already stamped its mark as the power house of Futsal in the Oceania region and have already represented the region in the FIFA Futsal World Cup last year in Brazil.

The Kurukuru as they a known to opponents in the OFC Championship proved to lethal for the Oceania counterparts when they made a clean sweep in the recent OFC Futsal Championship Fiji to reclaim the title.

The initiative of forming the development squad is one step in the right direction in assuring, Solomon Islands known for its soccer mad fans maintain that status especially in the indoor game.

The Solomon Islands under-12 Futsal development squad members are:
