  1. Who cares about QLD? Looks like NZ are actually doing something to get their guys noticed overseas, and its working.

Whether they are better than Qld players or not is irrelevant, you should be asking Qld administrators why they aren’t doing what NZ is doing (successfully by the looks) in this case.

  2. The more players who play futsal professionally as a sport the better for the future of futsal. If anyone is interested in playing in China, recrutements are expected from October 2009. Guangzhou has a planned 8 team professional league called Pearl League (futsal). See http://www.pearlsuperleague.com/

Use Google translate if you can’t read Chinese.

I was a guest at the launch of the pearl league last week. This league is on top of the Chinese National League.

As for a Kiwi playing in China, Chengdu attended the Vikings Cup in Christchurch last year and the New Zealand boys played against China, Victoria and Chengdu in 2007. NZ beat Chengdu 5-3 with only a couple of late goals by Chengdu making the game look close.

Negotiations are going well, the release of the draw shows a 2 month hole in the draw during Oct/Nov so the player may not join until Nov.

Vikings NZ is also negotiating bringing a couple of Chinese players to New Zealand as well.
