Geelong is on the brink of promotion to Victoria’s premier futsal competition.
The Futsal Cats beat FC Melbourne 7-4 in the first leg of the division one play-off for V-League qualification.
The Cats will win promotion if they can avoid a heavy defeat of four goals or more in the return leg in Brunswick tonight.
The V-League is Victoria’s elite futsal competition with the top 12 teams competing over 22 rounds.
Geelong’s squad is made up of players from the region’s outdoor clubs including North Geelong, Geelong Rangers, Surf Coast, Corio Bay and Bell Park.
