The second season sees two new teams join to total nine teams overall
The 2009 Joma Men’s Futsal Premier League will kick off tonight at the AIS Training Hall with two new teams expanding the competition to nine with the inclusion of Canberra FC and ANU FC for the coming season.
The additional teams further strengthening the competition for the second season after a very competitive and successful inaugural year in 2008.
“Canberra has a long and proud history of producing great Futsal players who have gone on to represent Australia,” Capital Football Futsal League Manager David Lee said.
“Having a strong Futsal Premier League competition with the two new teams will only further add to the development of both current national team players and aspiring representative players.”
“Last year’s competition was a great success with the quality of the competition as high as you’ll find anywhere in Australia and we’ve been rewarded for 2009 with a major sponsorship from Joma and an increased competition with two fantastic teams.”
Meanwhile, the 2009 Joma Women’s Futsal Premier League will commence tomorrow night at the AIS Training Hall with eight teams contesting for the title with both competitions culminating on the 18th December.
Last year saw Tuggeranong United Gunners claim the Men’s Futsal Premier League title with a thrilling victory over Canberra City while Boomerang FS defeated Woden Valley in the Women’s Futsal Premier League final at the AIS Arena.
