Tas Super LeagueThe second round of the 2009 Tassal Super League takes place at Aurora Stadium (Creek Rd, New Town) this Saturday.

FREE ENTRY – BAR AND CANTEEN OPEN

HALF TIME ENTERTAINMENT IN 7pm GAME – WILL BE ONCE AGAIN “THE TINY TOTS MONKEY”

After such a closely fought out opening round it looks as though this could be the round which sorts and shapes the table for the season.

We are hoping to once again have a huge crowd present and showcase Tasmanian Futsal to the masses.

The competition is looking like it will be very hard fought between all teams.

This year’s venue is fantastic for the event with Aurora having a huge capacity with the grandstand in and canteen and bar facilities available on the night.

Futsal Tasmania is hoping to provide top level entertainment and get as many juniors at the games as possible with free entry for everyone.

6pm – North West Dynamite vs Northern Fusion

The first game of the night sees the battle for pride of our two Northern teams. The North West coast outfit Dynamite will be looking to push on after their impressive first round performance against Zebras FC which has taken them to the top of the table. Star player Sean Howe demolished Zebras in patches and if the side can put the full 50 minutes together they could well find themselves sitting top with a 100% winning record. Our Northern representative Northern Fusion will be still fuming after giving away the points last round with virtually the last kick of the game against the Southern Strikers, this burning desire to resurrect this will see them push Dynamite all the way. The Fusion outfits physicality could be an advantage and if they can use this in the correct way they may be able to register an upset with players such as Rueben Gee and Greg Duffy capable of turning around their form from last round. Both teams look to be close to full strength and hopefully this Northern derby which is billed as match of the round, will set the tone for a great night.
Tip – North West Dynamite

7pm – Southern Strikers vs Derwent Storm

After coming off a closely fought loss to last years champions Remax Stripes, Derwent Storm has plunged to the bottom of the table to everyone’s surprise. Although this is the case they showed some very good signs in that game and the form of Danny White in the 2nd half has given them hope of still challenging for the competition. Although there are big wraps on Southern Strikers this season they seemed to lack conviction against Northern Fusion and were lucky to take points from that game. Both of these sides will be itching to register their first win and I expect to see a massive improvement from both sides. Both line ups will be the same with Storm having Alex Holmes available after a weeks lay off. This game could well come down to a goalkeeping battle between Ricky Chew and Tom Clamp to decide it as both teams match very well against each other all over the pitch. Much better form is expected from Strikers DiPendra Kunwar and Trent Pearce while Storm will be hoping for improvement from Amadu Koroma and Raymond Hui.
Tip – Draw

8pm – Remax Stripes vs Zebras FC

The final game of the round will see the defending champions Remax Stripes in hot form take on Zebras FC who really struggled to put it together in their first game. This could be the most interesting game of the night with overwhelming favourites Remax Stripes missing the star of the opening round Shay Hickey for this important encounter. Once again Michael McKenna’s form will be crucial to the outcome with Huw Jarvis leading their attacking assault. Zebras FC after a shaky start to their campaign will look to get their season off the mark and turn around their form with coach Romeo Frediani likely to ring the changes. Ricky Self is likely to be fully fit this week and will add fire power while it is rumoured that veteran Brett Pullen may be promoted from the Premier League side to bolster Zebras FC defensive stocks. This game could go either way and the first 5 minutes could make or break Zebras FC’s season.
Tip – Remax Stripes
