A quick report on how the NSW Vikings teams went at the recent Vikings Schools in Albury Wodonga
06 October, 2009
After an enjoyable week in Albury Wodonga, in which NSW Vikings produced their first lot of state teams from the school’s program, with 9 teams representing , it is wonderful to report that we not only won with 4 of our 9 teams but also had numerous ALLSTAR players.
Most importantly however, all players had an enjoyable time and played to the best of their ability, thus enhancing not only their reputation but ours as a futsal force moving forward.
Team Results
10 Boys — were Champions ….
11 Boys — played well and as a young side did well throughout the tournament….
13 Girls — Were Champions!
14 Girls — Champions
15 Boys — just missed out on semi finals
16 Boys — had the ability but tripped up when cards got senior players in trouble.
16 Girls — Champions
19 Girls — tried hard with a reduced squad and were unlucky
19 Boys — unlucky to not make the semi finals with some intense close games.
Overall the trip was enjoyable and fun for all involved and the players were a credit to themselves, their school’s, their families and the state of NSW. I look forward to next year

Does anyone know how the Queensland teams went? I cant find anything on either the Vikings site or the Qld Vikings site. My son went last year and he is dying to know how his mates fared this year.

On behalf of Vikings Futsal NZ we would like to thank all involved with the organising of this event.
The returning NZ sides loved every aspect of the tournament and have made special mention about the food and accommodation.
There are 3 school teams headed over for the Australasian Champion of Champions Finals next month along with the NZ 12 and 13 boys sides who will tour Queensland. In January 7 NZ sides will contest the Vikings Nationals in Sydney.
