Australia Women through to finals (Vikings)
Australia with 9-1 and 12-0 wins puts them through to the Semis
The Australian Women’s Futsal Team have secured a position in the semi-finals after another two wins yesterday.
GAME TWO MATCH REPORT
Their second game of the tournament against Foshan was a convincing win. The game started with much excitement with both teams breaking into counter-attacks.
Renee Tomkins was first to start the flow of goals after a flurry of sharp passing, creating a one on one with the Foshan goalkeeper and technically slotting the ball into the bottom right corner. After some excellent individual work, Renee went on to score a second goal shortly after.
Australia took control of the game and looked in great form with further goals from Jasmin Kent, Natalie Spirovski, Jade Banks and a double from Sam McGraw.
With some calculated attack by Foshan, they were able to get one goal back before half time.
The second half was a lot more competitive with only two goals being scored for Australia by Nicola Eagle and Beejay Alpozgen.

GAME THREE MATCH REPORT
The Aussie’s thrid game was against Panyu Shilou. With the team in full form, National Coach, Nicola Zammit had the advantage of using all players to create some valuable combinations and great team work. The ladies passing and movement was exceptional and created several chances on goal.
Co-Captain Jasmin Kent was first to score, followed by Nicola Eagle, who eventually went on to secure a hatrick.
With some creative play by Jade Banks, Renee Tomkins and Nichole Laws, the girls continued to focus on a fast paced game with textbook runs towards goals.
Australia will go in confindent to todays games and will look to compete against New Zealand in the grand final.

It is good to see that the “Australian National’ women’s team is being pushed to the limit by the up and coming powerhouses of Asian futsal!
Anyhow, good luck to the girls…
At least there is a program for women…. regardless of who they are playing. If I read on an earlier post, this tournament is the first of many in the lead up to the female world cup next year. Well done girls and well done Vikings for providing you with the opprtunity.
