why go. teams already picked. why have trials to waste peoples time. just pick ur teams from state titles.

    thatcher on November 11th, 2009 10:22 pm

Hey Maggie, why don’t you come out and tell us who the players are for each team since you already know who they are?

    I don’t want to waste my kid’s time either…

    GK on November 11th, 2009 10:31 pm

Thatcher, yes please tell us who the teams are.

I don’t want to travel and waste my time either.

    ossieostrich on November 12th, 2009 5:35 am

thatchers your a real good piece of work.!! Discouraging all not to trial so your child has a better chance of making a State team. Every player has an equal opportunity to make a team so come down and good luck to all. Dont let thatcher con you.

    Simon on November 12th, 2009 7:52 am

    well said Simon!

    Tony on November 12th, 2009 8:43 am

All coaches are either new or have been reshuffled so that the possibility of nepotism has been severely dismantled.Reputations mean nothing!Only those that trial well will be selected as it should be.

    butch on November 12th, 2009 10:29 am

Are they going to call them back again next week, and the week after that as well?
Keep the kids hanging whilst they could have trialled for Vikings.

    ossieostrich on November 12th, 2009 11:03 am

    Lefty on November 12th, 2009 3:32 pm

bahahahah you will all see. and, i dont have a kid trialing.

    thatcher on November 12th, 2009 3:59 pm

You are so full of shit thatcher.

People that say this are usually the ones that are crapping themselves about not being good enough to make the team.

    ossieostrich on November 12th, 2009 8:49 pm

yeah really?? so u know it all. well believe me or not I DONT CARE. i been there done that anyway. been every year for years. its just becoming more of a joke every year. no professionalism. its not elite anymore.

    thatcher on November 12th, 2009 9:15 pm

Maggie Thatcher: Put up or SHUT UP! Who are the players in the teams???????

    GK on November 12th, 2009 9:23 pm

thatcher unless you are rabbiting on about the coaches possibly knowing who was in the teams that did well last year, and them being chosen. Then you really have no idea.

Someone said to me that why should they bother trialling for the Met teams, because they had already been chosen. Well they fell flat on their arse when they saw the team and they were not all the players they had thought would be chosen.

    ossieostrich on November 12th, 2009 10:05 pm

Rumour has it jj(northern tigers)has got 13/girls Lightning?can any one confirm?

    butch on November 12th, 2009 11:51 pm

gee how long will he(jj) last before he is sent from the sideline by the ref??

    futsally on November 13th, 2009 9:42 am

Lets not mix enthusiasm with intimidation.JJ is a very enthusiastic coach who from what I have been told looks after the welfare of his players before anything.Just ask the girls who came back from Dubbo state tiles.

    butch on November 13th, 2009 1:23 pm

Way to go thatcher, you are correct. Surely the coaches already know the players in each age group from the state titles, premier and super leagues games played otherwise one must ask him or herself, who is watching. Certainly not the state coaches.

I opinion is the top four premier league teams would probably beat the selected state teams anyway. I guess the only ones watching are us proud parents. I just hope those kids not selected get stronger.

As far as the premisr league is concerned in my view, at least there have been some absolutely incredible individaul athletic efforts and fantastic premier league games in most age groups worthy of any sacrifice we make. Remember parents if we didn’t have it, we would go looking for it.

At the half way mark the premier league championship the teams are split into two halves. Step up boys and girls, watch that bottom, its hard to get back up, its a big drop. Feel the tremor.

    Thatcherette on November 15th, 2009 12:32 pm

    yes correct butch

    futsally on November 15th, 2009 2:22 pm

So how many players that didn’t play at state titles get picked for state teams?

There were a few there today, so I hope they check team sheets etc.

    ossieostrich on November 15th, 2009 5:24 pm

Hey Ossieistrich: Just curious as to whether you saw the FNSW lady doing a fantastic job at the rego desk checking it all out!

I guess that cynicism is the hardest thing to overcome…

    Curious on November 16th, 2009 6:31 am

Curious as much as I respect that FNSW lady(she has got to be the most helpfull and honest one I have met at FNSW) there were kids who slipped through and others know this.
If by some stroke of luck FNSW have granted one particular player the okay to trial even though they did not play, how is that fair to those who did play at state titles?
Oh I keep forgetting, sometimes it is who you are and who you know.

    ossieostrich on November 16th, 2009 9:38 am

    @ossieostrich,
If you have information then tell FNSWF.
Tell someone who these players are so that it can be resolved before it goes to far. The FNSW staff referenced all attendees against the team sheets of the State Titles.

Frank Rossi on November 16th, 2009 10:53 am

I was at the U13 State Trials yesterday. Pointless taking your child there when the teams are pre-selected. Now I can understand why there is a poor turn-out especially when you see selectors (Enfield/Apia coaches)selecting kids with less ability (and carrying injuries) and minimal trial time than the ones who get cut. No wonder futsal is on the down-pour!

Red Hot Mama on November 16th, 2009 1:42 pm

@redhotmama. Sour grapes will not get your kid selected. Less ability is obviously your opinion, not the 3 selectors. Carrying injuires does not mean that they will not be playing at their best at the Nationals. Ossieostrich, sometimes kids cannot physically play at the State titles because of injuries, sicknesss etc. These players can still be selected to trial if they have performed well before the State Championships.

    paul on November 16th, 2009 2:02 pm

They are certainly crossing them now Frank.

    ossieostrich on November 16th, 2009 2:02 pm

I saw the last hour of 13s state trials and the 20 selected were most probably the best 20. It was not as if there were any “excellent” kids that missed out. The only problem with the whole trial was how 1 boy was selected in Lightning and not Thunder. BAFFLING.

    justwondering on November 16th, 2009 2:15 pm

    @hot mamma
ive done my research because u obviously didnt and it seems that 4 or 5 kids from apia made the 2 teams which isnt really suprising considering they won the state titles and guess wat not 1 enfield player made eighter side so wat r u crying about.
but look on the bright side christmas is comming up maybe u should ask santa to bring your son a tennis racket it might be time he takes up another sport

    sikofsooks on November 16th, 2009 9:42 pm

@ sick of sooks – mate, obviously the research you must have got from the gutter as no Benfica, Enfield, Sutherland U13’s boys trialled out. Wonder why? Grow up & have a nice day!!!

Red Hot Mama on November 17th, 2009 8:05 am

    @red hot mamma
1.which part of my reasearch was from the gutter because im sure it is all correct
2.wat do u mean by your comment “wonder why”
3.who do u think u r saying that kids with less ability made the side they are other peoples kids you r talking about if u think you know so much about the game y dont u put your hand up to coach one of the sides
all these coaches make the trip to canberra with out pay infact, it cost them money in accomodation and petrol etc only to be insulted by ppl like you.
I think you should look in the mirror because its dopes like you that make our sport go bakwards
ant thank you i will have a nice day

    sikofsooks on November 17th, 2009 2:11 pm

    sos 1, rhm 0

For the love of the game on November 17th, 2009 2:17 pm

Benfica Boys didn’t trial cause they trialed in the 14s.

Our two 13 year olds can’t make the trip in January, so they were not at the trials.

    Good luck to all players.

    Lorenzo D'Addona on November 17th, 2009 2:19 pm

Whatever level of football/futsal, the results of trials are always subjective. It comes down to a matter of opinion with the opinion of those who put their hands up to be coaches/selectors being the ones that count.
Despite being told by various parents over the years that they aren’t biased in the way they look at trials it’s impossible for any parent to totally detach themselves from their own kid’s efforts.
Perception is obviously very important. Perceptions are often formed though by half factual information rather than total fact. But perceptions are also formed on occassions by slipshod grading processes. It’s to the advantage of the coaches involved to pick the best players and therefore achieve the best results. I don’t doubt that there is some loyalty to players who have performed at this level in the past; that does make sense to me.
If people don’t wish to trial that’s their perogative. People who do need to accept the final decision and just get on with life. Work a little bit harder and you never know what might happen.

    Ross on November 17th, 2009 2:31 pm

@ Red Hot Mama. I got there early to watch the 13s and I thought the quality of these boys was outstanding. Looked like all the best players in the 13s showed up to trail and anyone that missed out well better luck next year. I could have easily picked 15 players myself for the Thunder team alone so I’m sure the 10 they picked all deserved their selection. If theThunder team was pre-selected then all I can say is well done to the coach for doing his homework and selecting the best 10 players in the League. RHM the Thunder team actually won the 12s Nationals last year and I can see why. Well done boys and good luck in the Capital.

    Mike on November 17th, 2009 5:39 pm

So do we get the usual Errea gear this year, or do we get the spanky new Hummel gear for Nationals?

    ossieostrich on November 18th, 2009 10:25 am

    Dicky Knee, sorry Ossie:
The way you have been slagging the organisers you’d be lucky to get a roll of cling wrap!

    GK on November 18th, 2009 12:21 pm

ABSOLUTELY SPOT ON SIKOFSOOKS, LORENZO,ROSS AND MIKE. ALL OF YOU HAVE HANDLED THIS SILLY ‘RHM’ WELL. WHEN WILL PEOPLE WHO BRING THEIR KIDS TO TRIAL ACKNOWLEDGE THOSE THAT ARE ACCEPTED AND ACCEPT THAT SOME WILL MISS OUT. PLAYERS SHOULD COME READY TO TRIAL AND IF TRUE SPORTSMAN, ACCEPT THE DECISION OF THE POWERS THAT BE!IF RHM WAS THE COACH, I WOULDN’T WANT MY BOY ANYWHERE NEAR HER…SHE CANT ACCEPT DEFEAT WHEN ITS PERSONAL. I HAVE COACHED 7 BOYS IN FULL FIELD FOOTBALL THAT ARE IN THE 20 MAN NSW SQUAD AND I KNOW THE QUALITY OF THEIR SKILLS BETTER THAN MOST.IT IS NO FLUKE IN THEIR SELECTION,THEY HAVE WORKED VERY HARD AND IT IS SHOWING…THE SELECTORS WERE SPOT ON. AS FOR THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT ATTENDED THE TRIAL IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE PROCESS BUT THE AVAILABILITY AND COST FACTORS OF MAKING THE TRIP TO CANBERRA..RHM CAN’T UNDERSTAND THAT ALL THE APIA TEAM IS U13 PLAYING IN AN U14S COMP THAT THEY ARE LEADING. MOST OF THE TEAM PLAYED PREMIER LEAGUE LAST SEASON BUT COULDN’T MAKE A 14S TEAM THIS YEAR…THEY ACCEPTED THAT DECISION AND MOVED ON TO APIA IN SUPER LEAGUE…THE REST IS THERE FOR ALL TO SEE….RED HOT MAMA AIN’T SO HOT AFTER ALL

    MIL on November 18th, 2009 12:54 pm

MIL, I know a few boys in 13s that play PL futsal and they are very good players not only on the futsal court but also outdoor. Good luck to both Thunder and Lightning there shouldn’t be too much between the two teams. Good bunch of talented boys.

    Mike on November 18th, 2009 1:20 pm

It may come down to the coaches on the day…

    GK on November 18th, 2009 1:22 pm

13 boys had great talent. The coaches are young with a lot of passion and willingness to achieve as coaches.I know that all players that play under these coaches will have a lot of respect and will enjoy playing under them……..very important factor.
LET ME TELL YOU FROM EXPERIENCE,NO 27 FROM THE TRIAL WHO PLAYS FOR APIA IS WELCOME AT THE VIPERS ANY TIME(only after i negotiate a transfer fee with Ben).It was enjoyable to watch them weave their magic.
The equivelant to the Harlem Globetrotters show was the 15 boys……….i felt sorry for anyone that missed out,i would have introduced a STORM team…….they were BRILLIANT,loved watching them…..

    Thunder vs Lightening EVEN MONEY

    BOMBA on November 18th, 2009 1:48 pm

I agree with you about 13s and 15s.
I believe both teams in both age groups will be very very strong. There could easily have been a 3rd team selected from the 15s age group and it would have still been fairly strong.

    justwondering on November 18th, 2009 2:07 pm

hummel gear will be worn by FNSW teams durig 2010 Nationals….

    Tony on November 18th, 2009 2:13 pm

BOMBA, only one play is worthy of a Vipers jumper?? Your a hard man. From my experience I would welcome a few more especially the sharp shooter up front.

    Mike on November 18th, 2009 2:30 pm

what about Youth Teams, have they already been picked?

    Tony on November 18th, 2009 3:27 pm

Mike, there definetly were more players i would take……….i can not remember the numbers,i think 19 and vincent, great players.I wish i could remember all the numbers but i am getting old.The good thing is that they play attractive Futsal.

    BOMBA on November 18th, 2009 6:29 pm

Well all the age groups I watched trial were told straight after trials whether they were thunder or lightning.
So I would say youth were decided as well Tony.

    ossieostrich on November 18th, 2009 6:53 pm

Yeah Humel, why?? Beacuse they FNSW are the Australian Representtives of Humel, what a joke! Errea did so much for FNSW and brought them out of the dark ages then FNSW shafts them!

    Politic on December 18th, 2009 7:52 pm

So Politic, I suppose you are blaming the managers and coaches for the screwups with the Met Team gear. Some girls didn’t get their polo shirts until the last day of state titles. Granted they got a T-shirt, but the polo shirts would have been nicer to see.

    Hm on December 18th, 2009 8:57 pm

Politic, just curious to know which organisation you work for: Errea or FNSW to be so adamant about the “facts” that FNSW “shafted” Errea!

    Which one is it?

    Curious on December 18th, 2009 8:57 pm

Makes great reading guys ! lol At least while you are fighting amongst yourselves you’re not picking on VIKINGS ! lol

    F.Sala on December 19th, 2009 5:27 am

@F.Sala. You are so insecure that you think everything is about you and Vikings. Even posts about what NSW will wear!

    Henk on December 19th, 2009 8:12 am

no idea abour Met whatever…only know what I have been told from people….

    Politic on December 21st, 2009 10:20 pm
