The first official appointment of personnel for the Sydney F-League has been announced
26 November, 2009
The Sydney F-League today appointed Mr Paul Respicio as The Sydney F-League’s first General Manager to oversee the inaugural season in 2010.
The General Manager’s role will be essential to the League’s success, overseeing the League’s week to week operations, and chairing the League’s important Control and Disciplinary Committee.
Mr Respicio’s love affair with futsal comes from his birth country of Portugal. Having spent many years in the European futsal powerhouse, Respicio has played futsal both in Australia and his ancestral home. He is also currently Vice President of the NSW Futsal Referees Association and has been involved in an administrative capacity at FNSW State Titles and FFA National Championships giving him a proven managerial history.
Mr Respicio said he was excited about the coming year and looking forward to the challenge of helping run Australia’s newest elite futsal competition.
“I’ll diving head first into my new role for this exciting venture in 2010”, Mr Respicio said.
“Futsal is an important part of the general football family and definitely should enjoy a higher profile than it currently does.
“I think The Sydney F-League has the potential to raise that profile by becoming the best week to week futsal competition in the country. I’m very excited to be a part of that.
“Sydney’s futsal community really needs to be getting behind The Sydney F-League and I am really looking forward to working with all the players, officials and supporters who put themselves forward”, Mr Respicio said.
The Sydney F-League will be announcing the appointment of further personnel in the coming weeks.
Applications for entry to The Sydney F-League for the 2010 season close on 29 January 2010.
