    yeswell on December 1st, 2009 12:25 pm

That’s not what we were told. Maybe the Champions of Champions of Champions of Champions Cup will take its place!

I think postponed is different meaning to cancelled?

    from Vikings site

Article as originally posted on 30/11/09 is correct.

That page on the Vikings Website has since been changed, and will be updated here later today.

    Futsal4All Admin on December 1st, 2009 12:44 pm

Just curious what they mean by “postponed”.

When you postpone something you need to have an alternate later date…

Maybe they are just hoping that in time people will forgwt that it was ever scheduled and never happened!

    Curious on December 1st, 2009 12:57 pm

Well in Futsal4all’s post and above in the original article it says TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS. Not The National Futsal Championships 2010, which are still down as going ahead.

    yeswell on December 1st, 2009 2:57 pm

Maybe some of those individuals participating in the vikings nationals 10th – 15th couldn’t make it to the National Team Champs on the 16th..

    Dkennedy on December 1st, 2009 3:41 pm

Not a very good time to have it! Outdoor season that is in…It will either work out good or it will be a disaster! Still better than anything FFA provide!

    ronaldo9 on December 1st, 2009 5:18 pm

the nationals is going ahead??? are people stupid??? why would they not???

the club tournament will be mid year as it is the time of year where other countries are on break and it will be an open invitational which will hopefully attract a more international field!

also it has been requested from state bodies as they believe that the tournaments being back to back takes the gloss off the club part of the competition which we do not want to happen

    Sniper on December 3rd, 2009 2:13 pm

More spin than Shane Warne and Muralitharan combined……….

I am sure the top Spanish National League teams and Brazil’s Malwee, Falcao included, will be here for the event! Oh, I forgot: Lupaense from Italy will be coming too.

    GK on December 3rd, 2009 2:39 pm

With a bit of luck you won’t be there, which will mean a lot to all concerned GK, why don’t you put your head where it belongs buddy

Dickie knee on December 3rd, 2009 3:06 pm

Sorry mate, free country: I will be there to watch the best Futsal action this country has to offer!

For the love of the game on December 3rd, 2009 3:44 pm

    Spot On!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GK on December 3rd, 2009 4:02 pm

Mid-year club nationals? Why did no-one think of this before? Probably beacuse it is a pretty stupid idea! Most of the pro-vikings comments all state that cost is one of the major reasons that people play the Vikings nationals (WA for example). So lets make all interested pay 2 sets of airfares, accomodation, etc, brilliant! And to add to it lets make it in the middle of the outdoor season to boot. But wait, the delay will add an international flavour to the event you say. Oh no,thats right, this will only apply to the non FIFA organisations as due to Vikings not being affiliated no-one else can play as it is not a sanctioned event. But, we will still call it international as Vikings NZ will play, and that will add a lot to the standard of playing, NOT……

In Stitches on December 4th, 2009 8:10 am

Catalonya, Tierra del Fuego, Greenland, Alaska, Easter Island and Tasmania are coming as well… In all age groups I believe!

    GK on December 4th, 2009 8:33 am

Cool should be a good comp if they are coming…. beats playing nsw thunder, nsw lightening, nsw north, nsw south, nsw east nsw west oh and not to forget nsw city… mind you they would make a pretty strong comp… lol

on a more sensible note…. yep I can see why it would upset some soccer players having a Futsal tournament mid year, but it will attract the Futsal players I guess, just like the F League.

still surprises me so many on here don’t want Futsal to grow, still just want it to be a game played when they are not playing soccer…. I for one see Futsal as a sport …. I don’t see cricket complaining about all the cricketers playing indoor cricket… hell I don’t see cricket running around claiming ownership of indoor cricket at all….. so why soccer… ??

    ole on December 4th, 2009 2:31 pm

    Ole

Correct – At elite level people need to stop treating futsal as something to do in the football off-season.

It should be treated as a sport in its on right.

Actual cricket do claim indoor cricket…

Yeah you will be watching…your to shit to be able to play in it!

    ronaldo9 on December 4th, 2009 4:54 pm

Institches…aaaaah you cant play because FIFA says so ? I hope you always did what your Mummy told you do, too !

I loved your comments, you are really hurting aren’t you? Hahahahahahahaha

    F.Sala on December 4th, 2009 6:09 pm

@Ole “beats playing nsw thunder, nsw lightening, nsw north, nsw south, nsw east nsw west oh and not to forget nsw city… mind you they would make a pretty strong comp… lol”. Football Victoria has teams in all age groups. Queensland Football has teams in all age groups except one, ACT has teams in all age groups. Sololmon Islands and last year New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea had teams. Football West will have teams. Southern NSW won an age group this year just as Vikings (Qld. Football)did in 2008 (only 1). Based on results Southern NSW is as strong as Qld Vikings, So the absence of Vikings Qld, NZ and WA (No wins in 2008)will not diminish the FFA Futsal at all. In fact it will be stronger as Victoria will have the biggest turnout this year at the Nationals.

    Paul on December 4th, 2009 6:10 pm

Paul, like all before you, you miss the point completely ! Who gives a TOSS about mine is bigger than yours, your wife told me so !
I dont want to talk for Ole but I believe he an I are both wanting to grow the sport of futsal from ground zero….upwards. The FFA like FIFA dont give a stuff about futsal, they have little or no expertise and dont wish to have. Lets face it FIFA have had over 70 years to start a womens world cup but got side tracked, obviously.
More and more children each year tell me they would rather play futsal than “soccer”…is it because less than 5 minutes on the ball out of 90 isnt so appealing ? I dont know. My job is to provide the facilities to accommodate these youngsters and grow the sport. Stick to your inferiority complex if you wish !

    F.Sala on December 4th, 2009 6:33 pm

    @ ronaldo9
I’m glad you agree that it is the best Futsal action in the country, even if GK may not be able to play.

For the love of the game on December 4th, 2009 6:51 pm

hey, F.Sala, perhaps you could give us a quick update on what you have achieved recently on that front. Pehaps something about your overseas trip as well.

    @ronald9
“your to shit to be able to play in it!”

At least I can spell… By the way, you do not know who you are talking to, do you?

    Curious on December 4th, 2009 7:21 pm

Hey, why don’t you guys use your own bloody name: I am the original and only “Curious”!

    Curious on December 4th, 2009 7:25 pm

GK, Catalonia maybe will come, if we are invite we will think about it, and then I can explain to you why we do play as international team, Our legislative body and our constitution, give permission us to compete under the flag and the name of our nation. Perhaps Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland come, remember they play in fifa football 11.

Catalonia currently competes as a nation in 14 international federations.

I should say that in Catalonia, must of the futsal is under control by the FCFS member of AMF, and only some profesional teams play FIFA futsal under the presure to be kick out from the football federation if their futsal section plays AMF futsal.

So before you open your mounth please think about it.

When FIFA has arrenge a women`s world cup ? or UEFA a womens European cup?

AMF 1 womens world cup 2008, and 1 Internatioanl tournament 2007.

Next week began the IV European Championship for national teams (Female)

I think this info should count on the work that AMF is doing to develope the original futsal. We care for the futsal FIFA cares for the money. We love our sport FIFA loves the money.

News from African Confederation of Futsal (CAFUSA):

    Dear Colleagues,

As we regularly mention, our main objective is the futsal development in Africa. And we step forward with the declaration of intention sent in January by the African federations/associations. [Mali – Ivory coast – Senegal – Cameroon – Rwanda & DR Congo]

Those structures are currently finalizing the administrative part for their affiliation to the AMF, except DR Congo that its already a member.

The major difficulties they meet are :
    duration of the administrative local process ;
    resistance of the FIFA structures to their development ;
source of finance for their projects.

Since that January, we were contacted by representatives from : Burundi, Ethiopia that formally indicated they will start the process to be affiliated to the AMF.

Serious contacts are also existing with Algeria, Angola, Morocco and Zambia.

Each associations/federations will indicate precisely their national situation in their request to affiliation. Most of those structures currently organize futsal through schools or administrations at the basic level with tournaments or championships.

We all agreed the fact an African tournament for male national selections will be organized in September 2010.

The basic individual and global needs are currently in evaluation and will lead to the futsal program African federations/associations need to develop.

    Simon on December 4th, 2009 9:53 pm

@f.sala. You obviously do give a toss, as you, like Ole, like to post on this website that the FFA Nationals are all NSW. The fact is, NSW is the strongest of a very strong competition. I think Victoria will surprise quite a few people in the younger age group.

    F.Sala on December 5th, 2009 1:10 am

Mate, I give you a chance to post something positive and once again you play the man and not the ball. Probably about time the good people at Vikings asked you to put a sock in it.

    Simon on December 5th, 2009 5:06 am

Simon as my junior you are not in a position to “give me a chance” to do anything. I determined you were a complete goose a long time ago. How on earth would me telling you what I did overseas, benefit you ? The people involved know and all others worth anything to the sport also know….How come you dont ???????

    F.Sala on December 5th, 2009 7:31 am

    @ Devine

Cheers mate… this is brilliant news, maybe the FFA could learn something here.

The indoor cricket centres are private and commercially run but somehow CA has found a way to have an involvement. Mind you I’d rather see Futsal run by Futsal and linked to the FFA and not have it run commercially.

So cricket have some sort of control but the game is run by indoor cricket…. makes you wonder dosn’t it

    ole on December 5th, 2009 8:25 am

F.Sala…seeing as I have no idea who you are I’ll have to take your word on that one. All I see is you and some of the older protagonists constantly bickering on the Vikings v FFA front. I’m sure there are many or us ‘juniors’ who dont understand the deep-seated hatreds many of you ’senior’ folks have.

So for the benefit of all on this site, why dont you put your money where your mouth is and let us know who you are and what you are currently involved in to push the boundaries of Futsal.

    Can’t be too difficult now?

    Simon on December 5th, 2009 9:43 am

Any by the way, (name) calling me a “complete goose” gives you about as much credibility as the current NSW Labour party !!

You sure do know how to alienate the neutrals !!

Poor Simon, always the last to know ! lol

    F.Sala on December 5th, 2009 1:29 pm

    F.Sala on December 5th, 2009 1:31 pm

F.Sala aka Ian Bentnall currently residing in Qld, formerly associated to the now defunct Sutherland Cobras in the southern suburbs of Sydney, great mate of Bob Raso.

Junior State teams coching career very short of illusrious, currently completing a Ph. D. in crap stirring and using many well meaning folks in this forum as guinea pigs.

No, he will not go away if we ignore him, but at least he will be posting just to himself, which he may enjoy as he thinks that the world would plunge into total darkness if he sat down…

    GK on December 5th, 2009 6:31 pm

Oh dear me mr GK. You are one ignorant little person. Get your facts right if you want to be a hero (to yourself).
F.Sala is NOT Ian Bentnall (and you aren’t the first to say that and get it wrong !).

Dont hold your breath waiting for Mensa to call you eh ?

Ian (F.Sala), I can only assume you are pretending they havent got you because they are spelling Bentall wrong.

    dMac on December 6th, 2009 11:48 am

riveting conversation, and here I thought the important Futsal issues were who should wear a star on their shirt in the prem/super leagues

if F.Sala is in fact Ian Bentall some here might be interested to noted that through the efforts off people like him you actually have a sport to come on here and complain about. So who’s next in the firing line, George Dick what about Dawn Gilligan!!!

I enjoy the new and youth but haven’t forgotten who worked forgotten tirelessly for the sport of Futsal. Some of these soccer come Futsal people today have forgotten it is a stand alone sport.

    toepoke on December 6th, 2009 12:19 pm

Thanks Toepoke but poor old Mr Lennon (dmac) has been dying for a long time now to reveal the person behind F.Sala (betraying the original confidence, but somehow I’m not surprised !) According to Mr Lennon our dear friends here could be authors of history books so future generations would know that our last two Prime Ministers were 1) John Howarth and 2)Kevin Budd. Whats in a spelling ?(Our schools seem to have lost the old art ! lol )But guess what Mr Lennon….even if my identity has been revealed to the late developers NOTHING changes I will still call an idiot an idiot !( Some people on here give me plenty of opportunity ! lol)

Ian Bentnall, I thought that he was dead?

In Stitches on December 7th, 2009 9:25 am

What colour star did you vote for ?

    F.Sala on December 7th, 2009 11:41 am

In Stitches, Ian Bentnall possibly is dead ? I never had the pleasure of meeting him, although Ive heard a few people speak of him. But……….life goes on !

    F.Sala on December 7th, 2009 11:43 am

“poor old Mr Lennon (dmac) has been dying for a long time now to reveal the person behind F.Sala (betraying the original confidence, but somehow I’m not surprised !)”. who is Mr Lennon who would betray F.Sala’s confidence? A falling out?

    Paul on December 7th, 2009 2:14 pm

No falling out Paul……some things you just never tell some people, you understand that dont you ? People ask me to keep something close to my chest, it happens.
dmac , like others thought (incorrectly) that it would change the futsal world if F.Sala’s name was revealed !!! yawn !
See how Ive lowered my standards ! lol

    F.Sala on December 7th, 2009 3:16 pm

I never outed you Ian, I just got sick of you pretending F.Sala wasnt Ian Bentall when you were clearly named and lied on this forum by denying it. I was perfectly happy to let others work it out and name you.

Did you change your name when you came to Queensland because the Sydneysiders all write Bentnall.

I personally will be more than happy for you to continue writing rubbish and upsetting people as I find it entertaining, even if it does nothing for the name of Vikings. (I assume Alastair knows and approves.)

    dMac on December 7th, 2009 5:29 pm

No stars for you dmac. Mispelling someones name is the height of ignorance. If I denied being someone I wasn’t and you call me a liar then I understand why you went into the teaching profession !
What I write on here is in my own time and is not sanctioned or censored by Vikings….. Why should Alistair approve ? I dont reveal confidentialities as some people do !
You know the countless hours of work I put into futsal for which you have acknowledged publicly on here and I thank you for that. I call a spade a spade and it upsets some people ? Tough, get over it !
Perhaps at times I get too passionate about my sport but it pisses me off to see Football raping FUTSAL (and surely that is whats happening ! Many youngsters on here dont know the sports history, so I’m helping educate them ! and entertain you and hopefully many others as well ! Felice Navidad

so you all know, it is ian bentall. the same man that was hanging out with joe brent, bob raso and all the others back in the day. suppose he decided to take the sunnier life in qld. fsala you have done well to hide yourself for a long time, i suppose now they have all worked out who you are. for all those not sure he had the lovley curly grey hair….lol. fsala/ian i must say i admire your humour as i did many years ago. have lots of stories to tell of you but i think we will leave them off this forum for now.

    futsalfanatic on December 8th, 2009 8:27 am

FSala, so you post in your own time and are employed by Vikings. Interesting, don’t you realise that the time is stated when you post, good to see that you are working hard for Vikings on Ali’s clock. I hope that you deduct the countless hours reviewing this site from your pay packet. Then again, maybe Ali wants you to post to continue his great myth of us against them.

You claim that you wish to educate the younger generation on the games history.

I know that it would be strange for you but why not start with some facts. Alistair was the main driver behind continued criticism of the previous administration on charging players to tour and made a profit. Now he is doing exactly that, swings and roundabouts!

Old nationals, Alistair would charge all of the Qld teams for the trip to Canberra and instead of promoting the sport ensured that all of these teams were booked to return to Qld prior to the national team titles. Great promotion of the sport.

You contine to tread a very fine line here between fact and fiction. you need to take a step back and realise that there are a lot of people with baggage in this sport.

Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. On this basis, we all need to shut up!

In Stitches on December 8th, 2009 8:39 am

@F.Sala/Ian- You can be the boogie man for all I care, please stop talking about yourself and address the issues of our sport. The same applies to everyone- who cares if Benfica have a star on their crest we have more important issues at the moment! People don’t realise that the sport is in serious trouble and the powers that be are doing a good job destroying it!

Like Cricket Australia and the FIVB, they have done magnificently to incorporate their respective sporting hybrids into their organisation. I wished the FFA could adopt the same principles :(

    Davo on December 8th, 2009 8:46 am

    Davo

    Strongly agree.

We need to sought out our own backyard and unite as one, before the likes of FFA notice or give a toss.

    Will keep trying though !!!!

    F.Sala on December 8th, 2009 12:19 pm

futsalfanatic, no, not hiding ! All the important people knew where I was !!!! Yes my humour is still grate * !!

    F.Sala on December 8th, 2009 12:28 pm

Dear Dear Dear….. Surely F.Sala if you are Ian Bentall you will be a touch quieter now!! Surely it is not good for us vikings employees if you are talking absolute rubbish!

Don’t get me wrong as I am a big vikings supporter but when you look on here and see you getting involved with all of this rubbish it does tend to degrade the cause..

We are professionals that should concentrate on the sport and not blogs…

    yaaaaaaaawn

is anyone else over this….. it’s like twin peaks on here…. who is Ian Bentall who killed Laura Palmer

Ian has stated many times he speaks for himself and I believe this. I don’t also agree with him but we all have our own views,,,, Henky, GK, Rob etc I don’t always agree with them but respect they have their views

that said…. back to the real issues…… so they will wear the star… *LOL*

oh…. also how is D Lennon in the Futsal world….. can’t have done much never heard of him
