Or let us not forget the Poor USA! Where the FIFA group had the word 'Futsal' Copyrighted! So the USA AMF group had some ridiculously long name so as not to be sued (It was overturned in court a couple of years ago i think)Imagine copyrighting the name of a sport!

Also the AMF often have World Club Cups, sometimes these are confused in translation programs I have found. And if an Aussie Team ever goes, the newspapers always seem to report them as 'World Cups'

Hilarious Curious! However I believe the reason (and please someone correct me if wrong) that countries such as ie: Spain play under states such as Catalonya is due to the FIFA governing body issuing 'smackdowns' to AMF organisations representing as a certain country so they pursue other avenues (who better to welcome with open arms than the Catalonians grasping at the independence straw?), Much like the Two Brazilian groups, Chile etc in South America. Much like 'Malta' which was filled with English players due to FIFA controlling the English Futsal game. Some countries football/futsal governing bodies are more forceful than others. While good examples, France and Belgium, where the AMF and FIFA organisations work side by side for both competitions. Selections, competitions, everything (last time i heard of course), it is run seperate, but out of mutual respect. Fielding stronger sides for both AMF and FIFA tournaments and developing the game in their respective countries.

Just curious to see that the previous AMF "World Cup" had "countries" like Catalonya, Galicia ( both Spanish regions/states) and there is even a mention of "Andean Region (region Andeana)" from Chile...

I am just curious to find out if "Outback Northern Territory" will be sending a team to the "World Cup" in 2010! Crocodile Dundee could be the coach...

@Phil. This is not a FIFA or FFA sanctioned event as there is no FIFA World Cup for Women, only for Men.

Phil, I think you'll find the FFA and FIFA do absolutely nothing for womens Futsal so no need for the confusion.

Good luck to the girls finally they are getting the chance to play

Is this a FIFA event? I am getting confused when I see a Vikings team supposedly representing Australia at a World Cup. I thought FFA teams represented Australia? It's hard to know which teams are truly representing Australia, or even whether all these events that Vikings are entered into are actually FIFA sanctioned.
