Pirates Mens bow out of the MFL
The Pirates Mens lost against the Wolves to finish 5th, just missing out on a Semi Final berth in next week’s Finals series. Coach Zoran was pleased with the over all effort of the team and is already planning for next year’s competition, where he hopes to go one better by making the Semi Finals. The Mens MFL Semi Finals and Grand Final will be played at Caroline Springs on Saturday 12th. For all of the fixtures, log onto the FFV’s website. The Boys U12’s are still flying the flag for the club and they play Geelong in the next round of the MFL at Bundoora on the 12th. Go Pirates!
Fubar Utd Bow Out at the Semis
Against the Form Guide, Salsa knocked over League Leaders Fubar Utd 5-2 on Friday night,to earn a spot in next week’s Grand Final.Their opponents will be last season’s Champions, Bad Beats who thrashed FIFA10 16-5.It should be an evenly contested match next Friday, so come along and watch it!Kick Off is 9.10pm on Court 1.In the other game,Lightning just pipped the Red Devils 5-4. So, at 7.30pm the Red Devils take on Fubar Utd in the Wooden Spoon Final and FIFA10 play Lightning for 3rd Place at 8.20pm. The season’s Awards will also be given out on the night.
Diamonds win the Saturday League!
The Diamonds won the Pirates’ Spring Saturday Competition with a round to spare by beating the Eagles 6-1 to clinch the title. Next week they take on the Sapphires, which will be a closely fought match amongst the two Ladies teams.In the other games FC Green beat the Falcons 13-5; Sapphires beat Mako 11-3 and the Green Machine beat the Hawks 7-4.One Round to go, but it is not over for 2nd and 3rd place. The season’s Awards will be presented to the players next week and don’t forget to vote for the Players’ Player Award, by return email to Mark.
