High interest in the Sydney F-League
A number of clubs have already committed to applying for entry into the new league
The Sydney F-League has received a high level of interest from members of Sydney’s futsal community since the concept was launched at the beginning of November this year.
Newly appointed General Manager of The Sydney F-League, Paul Respicio, said he was pleased with the response the new competition had generated so far.
“We’ve had a lot of enquiries about the competition with a number of clubs already committed to applying for entry to the league’s first season.
“The feedback we have received from Sydney’s futsal community has been very positive so far. It seems that people agree we need a competition that is played under full international conditions”, Mr Respicio said.
“Over the last week or so The Sydney F-League has been endorsed by high profile Futsalroos Peter Spathis and Lachlan Wright.
“The competition is a great opportunity to create a viable career path for our elite futsal players and provide an essential training ground for the international futsal environment.
Mr Respicio also encouraged anyone thinking about getting involved to contact The Sydney F-League now.
“Christmas is almost upon us, then it will be New Year’s, The FFA National Championship and then suddenly it will be the end of January. The time to act is now.
“Also the entry requirements are more comprehensive than in other tournaments so we would like to be able to help our entrants to meet those requirements before the deadline.
“The Sydney F-League team is happy to help with any questions you may have about the entry forms or any aspect of the competition”, Mr Respicio concluded.
Applications for entry to The Sydney F-League close on 29 January 2010.
