STRIKERS FUTSAL TEAM NEWS
The Strikers Mens Team have finished their Melbourne Futsal League third on the ladder after drawing with Ashburton 7:7. The lead exchanged many times with the draw probably a fair result between two evenly matched teams. Irzad Spijodic continues to lead the goalscoring charts with another three goals, with Alija Redzepovic scoring three goals as well and Ben Bodo scoring one goal. The Strikers meet the Reservoir Wolves in the semi-finals whilst the Cobras play Ashburton in the other semi-final. With not much between all four teams, we should all look forward to an exciting final series.
The Strikers U’11 team continued their fine form by dispatching the EFA Eagles 17:3 in round 3 action of the Melbourne Futsal League. Johno Vakirtzis nabbing 5 goals, with Matt Zalewski and Nathan Liberto scoring 4 goals each, Brayden Calleja and Matthew Bartolo scoring two goals a piece to round up the scoring. The Strikers played a free-flowing game with some beautiful movement of the ball around the court. The Strikers have now scored an amazing 43 goals in three games which is an average of over 14 goals a game. We look forward to the next game against the Pumas in Round 4 action.
