After hearing of the tragic news recently of the drowning deaths of Mr Joseph and Mrs Carole Sherry at South Ballina Beach the club is assisting in raising money for the Hannah Foundation this weekend at our game against Sydney City at Homebush.
The Sherry family had close ties within the futsal fraternity with daughter Elise having played Futsal previously for Sydney City and currently this season for Campelltown City Quake.
Representatives of both clubs, ourselves and the Sydney City Eagles will be going around to all spectators on the weekend to collect as much money as possible to help the family.
Alternatively you can make a donation direct at the Hannah’s Foundation website or at any Westpac branch, QPCU Hannahs Foundation reference Sherry Orphan Family Appeal BSB 034002 account number 333453
As a continued mark of respect for Elise and her family we will be holing a minute silence prior to the u/14 girls game.
To the Sherry family, many condolences from all at the Inner West Allstars Futsal club.

Round #8 (Click here for Video)
Allstars 21 pts – Dural 6 pts
Team of the week – U12 Boys
After last weeks terrible defeat the U12 boys bounced back better than anyone could’ve hoped for and hammered the Warriors side.
It wasn’t necessarily the score which was pleasing but more the manner of the performance and the way the goals were scored.
Male Player of the Week – Alisane Fofanah
Alisane is a quiet kid off the court, but on it he is a menace for opposition teams. His brilliant and devastating performance against Dural was a sight to behold scoring 5 goals in a brilliant all round performance.
Female Player of the Week – Natasha Lo Giudice
Tasha is really starting to hit her straps. After a quiet start to the season the devastating target is back to her deadly best and with her improved all round game clearly on show, this is the best Tash has played in a long time resulting in some superb team performances.
Goalkeeper of the Week – Charlene Borg
Charlene has been on this list numerous times this season but this week, its never been more deserved than this week. Whilst playing and starring in her usual performances in the 14 girls and 16 teams Charlene stepped up and played a great game in the senior womens as well.
Round #9 (Click here for Video)
Allstars 27 pts – Commodores 0pts
Team of the week – U12 Boys
Against a seemingly unbeatable opponent which has steam rolled every single team that has stepped on the court against them, our boys who lost by double figures the last time we played them and with only 5 players played the games of their lives to secure the seasons biggest upset to beat the unbeatable.
Male Player of the Week – Vincent Giannini
Vincent has really expanded his game this season. Last season Vincent played as an out and out target man whilst this season he has expanded his game to also incorporate playing as a flanker and it was in this position where he starred for his team not only scoring 2 goals but working very hard in defence.
Female Player of the Week – Sarah Yatim
Sarah has started the season slowly considering her high standards but the past few weeks she has began to play like the Sarah Yatim we all know. And the Commodores saw first hand how good this kid is. Sarah was brilliant all day and played in the 14s, 16s and womens team and played a significant hand in all 3 games scoring a very impressive 7 goals for the day.
Goalkeeper of the Week – Greg Frelingos
Whilst his team was exceptional in front of him Greg was brilliant when called upon. He made some brilliant saves from both long and close range and his spectacular saves were just as important in securing a brilliant victory.

i was at the games today and did not see any representatives from allstars collecting. Sad to think they used this to get bonus points. Also i dont think its appropriate how a memberof our futsal office comes to watch and cheers on a team.pathetic. Should be neutral.we paying his wages.
angry….there was one collection tin being taken around. Lots of people from both clubs donated…..including myself.
I think it may of been a Sydney City person doing the collecting. I don’t think it makes sense for two separate collections and trying to work out who is from which club.
It was tragic event. No one is trying to exploit it and it shouldn’t be used to have a go at Allstars either.
Angry, you must be a very sad and tormented person. Well done to both clubs for organising the collection and ppl please continue to donate to this appeal.
so was it not an allstar person who responded with, “all i have is a bobby pin”
Thatcher no I am neutral but I did donate currency of a ‘Note’ kind. Good to see so many people dig deep and donate to the appeal.
