The Sydney City Eagles 14 Boys went through to the next round at the expense of the Mascot Vipers winning a brilliant game of attacking Futsal from both sides 6-4 after being 2 goals down in the first half. Peter Makrillos starred for the Eagles netting 4 goals.

The Vipers got off to a great start when James Demetriou fired a fierce low drive into the goal from out on the left touchline.

Vipers keeper Brian Aguiar had just made two great saves to deny the Eagles but could do nothing to stop Peter Makrillos shot to level the scores at 1-1.

The Vipers then jumped to a 3-1 lead after Dion Kakavelis chimed in to score two quick goals mid way through the first half.

The Eagles got back into the game when Peter Makrillos received the ball on the edge of the area and slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 3-2.

The Eagles came close when Makrillos laid the ball off for Bruno Antemelli but his shot struck the post.

Shortly before half time the Eagles got the goal they were looking for when Peter Makrillos received a nice cross court pass and hammered a brilliant volley into the roof of the net to make it 3-3.

Into the second half and the game was flowing from end to end with both sides having chances and both keepers making some great saves.

The deadlock was finally broken when Chris Naumoff passed to Blair Brown who quickly found Peter Makrillos who coolly slipped the ball past the keeper to give his side the lead for the first time and score his fourth of the game.

The Vipers were still well in the game and drew level when James Demetriou held off the Eagles defence turned and slammed in a shot that went in via a deflection to make the score 4-4.

Before the Vipers had a chance to settle themselves Sydney City replied with two quick goals that sealed the contest. First Peter Makrillos held off the defence and teed the ball up for Bruno Antemelli to fire home.

Then the Eagles made it 6-4 when a quick long throw down court from keeper Blake Tuxford found Blair Brown in space who smashed the ball into the net.

The Vipers threw everything at the Eagles in the dying minutes to claw back the deficit with James Demetriou twice hitting the woodwork but Sydney City held on to win an outstanding game of Futsal from both teams to advance to the next round.
