Hunter Futsal leading the way in Futsal development in Northern NSW
23 April, 2010
As at April 2010 Hunter Futsal Strikers have been working to grow and expand the Futsal Game in NNSW over the last few years and we take this opportunity to inform all our members and supporters of progress to date.
The Strikers have expanded to be the biggest Futsal club in NNSW under the NNSW Football Federation banner with six outlets to play in, available this summer. We have just acquired a venue at Central Coast that will be on line by September 2010. Our winter competition has started at Howzat-Newcastle, Gateshead and Maitland.
With this increase in patronage comes our clubs responsibility to provide at our venues the best Futsal competition for all sorts and all types of participants from Under 6 to senior Men’s, Women’s and mixed. We have over 30 NNSW accredited referees available to us to referee at our centers and the best Futsal Accredited coaches assisting the club in its ventures.
Howzat- Newcastle has the only specific Futsal built court in NNSW and Broad meadow’s International courts will in the future possibly have Futsal International games held on them.
Thanks to parents support and the help of our qualified coaches, Hunter Futsal Strikers, have formed a NNSW Futsal Strikers Academies in each age group from Under11 to Senior Men and Women to help develop our elite players and keep them “Futsal Active” in our off season. The academy is endorsed by NNSWF but completely run by the club utilizing all of our great resources. The academy has also been introduced to our other club partners in NNSW, Manning Futsal and North Coast Futsal. These entities with the Hunter Futsal Strikers will continue to work together for the good of the sport in NNSW.
This year we will start up our Premier League Competition again with a lot of the academy and other elite players playing in this competition. Our aim, keep the elite players playing in the hardest competition we can give them and get some more NNSW players like, Hanken Canlin, given an opportunity to trial for the Australian Teams.
This year competition will start 1st week in September and second week for Premier League. TEAM REGISTRATIONS will be taken around middle of August. Watch this space for updated news.
Please help spread the word about Hunter Strikers as we work together to achieve our goals. We are hopeful that together with NNSWF Federation the Futsal Code will continue to grow and be as big as the outdoor version and eventually be recognized on its own rights.
This season keep an eye out for social events such as Trivia Night and our first Futsal Ball as well as special events tournaments for ALL our players.
Once again thank you greatly for your support.

President Hunter Futsal Strikers
NNSW Strikers Academy ( Level 2 ) – Coaching Coordinator.
