SCORELESS FINAL SEES ROBINA HOME (May 6th, 2010)

A scoreless grand final, the first in Vikings Coomera River School Cup history, saw Robina take out the 16 Girls division of the competition under the count-back system today at UCSC on the Gold Coast. Undefeated in games against Rivermount (2-0), Assisi College (2-1) and UCSC (1-1), the second placed Rivermount needed a victory in the final to take out the trophy. But despite end to end action, impressive performances by both keepers saw the count-back rule enacted for the first time ever after the game remained scoreless, giving Robina victory. The two schools will clash again as early as next Thursday when they will clash in the 14 Boys division of the same competition.
