Beenleigh Trounce League Favourites
Beenleigh achieves its best win yet against league favourites Gold Coast Tigers.
In a highly controversial match, Beenleigh have sent a clear message to counterparts with an emphatic win in last Fridays Queensland Winter Futsal League match of the round.
Played at Beenleigh Arena, the local side sealed the win 12-4, against a depleted Gold Coast Tigers team.
To cap off a momentous night for the ‘Green Machine’, the team held off competition improvers Magic FC 5-3 in the last of two matches in the round.
Gold Coast Tigers were unable to penetrate Beenleigh’s defence for much of the match and with the weight of refereeing decisions not falling their way were pretty much out gunned by a Beenleigh side who has the determination to ‘go all the way’ this season.
A key reason Beenleigh is netting plenty of goals and putting a lot of pressure on teams is due to the leagues leading goal scorer Jason Dixon-Best.
The striker has twenty one goals from just the first four rounds and can neutralize the defensive efforts with ease at present.
It was a frustrating night for Gold Coast’s star keeper Reza Behbahani who had more goals slip past him in this match then had been conceded in the last six games the competition leaders had played.
No doubt that team defence will be on the chalk board this week at training.
For Beenleigh, this week ends game will be a psychological plus when the teams meet later in the year in the finals, assuming their form holds for the remaining of the competition.
If ever there was one team very focussed on making the finals, its Beenleigh, and everyone knows that.
