The Fiji Futsal committee will decide whether Petero Dauniseka remains a part of the national team.

Dauniseka played for Ba in Sunday’s National Football League 2-0 victory over Rewa.

Fiji Futsal team manager Krishneel Sharma said all national players were informed not to play at district level. However Dauniseka went on to play for the Men in Black.

He said players should know that playing at national level was more important than playing at district level.

“The committee will sit and discuss on Petero’s case. All players were released from camp last weekend but they were not allowed to play for their district teams,” Sharma said.

“It’s a concern that they might be injured so they were not to play for their districts.

“I do not know how Petero ended up playing for Ba. He did not even inform the management that he would play for Ba.”

Sharma said Dauniseka was a key player in the national Futsal team.

“We might not look at suspending him from the team because we have only a few players. It will be decided by the committee,” Sharma said.

“Petero is an experienced player and should know that playing at national level is more important than playing at district level,” Sharma said.

Injured Thomas Koster and national U20 rep Ilisoni Logaivau are doubt for Fiji’s first game on August 8.

“The team is training well under the guidance of coach Scott Gilligan and we are trying to build a good combination,” Sharma said.
