The Allstars have had to rebuild their mens squad this season after a number of players have moved on, and the signing of Futsalroo Rogic will no doubt fill the void.
Rogic has been a revelation since he was spotted in a local Canberra competition, so much so that in the space of one year Rogic has not only represented the ACT at the National Championships where he was the tournaments leading goalscorer but also onto full honours for the Futsalroos at the recent AFC Qualifiers in Indonesia as well as leading the goal scoring for the Futsalroos in Uzbekistan at the recent AFC tournament.
Rogic will join fellow Futsalroos Adrian Vizzari and Daniel Fogarty in the new look Allstar lineup which will also include former Futsaloo Issac Waddick as well as Futsalroo train on squad members Ediz Alpkaya and Roberto Maiorana as well as young guns Patrick Pace, Shayne Ardle and Aaron Cimitile.
Allstars now boasts the side with the most current futsalroos in their squad.
Rogic was first approached by Futsalroo team mate Vizzari to join the Allstars and Rogic was ecstatic to test himself in the newly named McDonalds Futsal Premier League “I’m really looking forward to it, the majority of the boys in the Futsalroo team play in it and it’s by far and away the best Futsal club competition in Australia. I’ve been speaking to Adrian for a few weeks and it didn’t take much for Adrian to sell the club to me, I know how strong a club Allstars are and after speaking to the coach Carmine it was easy. Now I’m just really looking forward to start playing”
Coach Carmine Bortone said “It’s a massive signing, sure players have left but we weren’t to worried, Tommy is one of the best young Futsal talent in Australia, we now have the right blend of Youth and experience and to be quite honest we haven’t finished just yet. Everyone at the club is really excited and can’t wait to see Tommy in action”.
