$10K on offer for the Fiji Futsal side if they win the OFC Champs
This was confirmed by Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Futsal Commission Chairman Anil Sharma during the National side’s presentation night held in Suva on Saturday night.
Sharma reminded the 12-member squad that it was time for Fiji to taste glory in the shorten code.
“I promise the players that if they win the OFC Futsal Championship I will give $10,000 from my own pocket. My message to them is to play whole heartedly and be proud to wear the National jumper,” Sharma said.
The chairman added that the onus was now on the players to deliver.
“The preparations have been done and now the time has come for the team to play. Players will not be only representing themselves but the country. We are looking forward to the Futsal Championship and hopefully we get the results. It is up to the players,” Sharma said.
Manager Krishneil Sharma says the boys were inspired by the support.
“The support that we have been getting throughout and this presentation night has inspired the boys. They are focused and looking forward to the match against Tahiti.
“I would like to thank the Futsal Commission and Fiji FA for their support,” Sharma said.
In last night’s games, Vanuatu beat Tuvalu 7-1 and the Solomons won 9-2 over New Caledonia. Fiji’s game with Tahiti was in progress when this edition went to press.
