This week will see the New Zealand Men head to Bogota, Colombia to round out preparations for the Tenth Futsal World Cup.

The side qualified for the event after defeating Australia on penalties in Kuala Lumpur last October. Since this time the side has had plenty to deal none least the devastating earthquake in Christchurch.

The side will train and play some friendlies in Bogota in the lead up to their first game against Belarus on March 16th.

Coach Gui Costa is very confident the side has the capability of upsetting sides and forcing a way into the 2nd round. “I have been looking at tapes of our opponents and they are beatable”. “I believe if the guys play to their best and work hard for each other they will surprise teams”.

This is the first time a New Zealand side has contested the Futsal World Cup and will no doubt go into the tournament has underdogs but with the view they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
