Yes, rather odd seeing that Southern NSW won the Mens Nationals Title.

and the northern nsw keeper had the best defensive record at nationals…

Anyone who was in the Sthn NSW team that won the title ?
As for the Sthn & Northern NSW players omissions, maybe just didn’t suit the coaches style or couldn’t make it to the trials. Players had to pay their own way to Qld for weekend long trials so not surprosing that some good players didn’t attend or get selected. I wouldn’t see anything political in their non selection as they may have been in the initial training squad and didn’t see it as “value for money” ??

I know for a fact that both NNSW players were there and the keeper puts in time and time again just to be cut at the final hurdle I feel sorry for the guy.
The team is quite well selected while Sthn NSW won with the best team I don’t think they had the best players. Yet they definitely had better players then some of those selected
You are right though Phil unfortunately they have to take the ones who can pay the money

the guys from WA must have forked out a fair bit to attend trials.

Just to clear up about the NNSW keeper . In regard to it being about money why he wasn’t in the squad. Thats not right. Basically he puts his heart and soul into Vikings futsal and gets let down every time. He is an amazing player I have been watching him for years. From what I understand he is very let down by this association.

Just to further clear things up as I am a player in the squad, and I assume you’re talking about Nick Baker? I was surprised at his keeping level at trials as I have played against him for years and had never seen him in the form he is in now… however I was also very much shocked at the quality of the other goalkeepers that made the side over him. He was in no way hard done by, he just had some intense competition! Nothing to do with money as it haven’t even been mentioned yet. And as for the Sth NSW boys, well there were 20 players picked for the squad and both the Sth NSW boys and one from VIC were the only ones not to show for trials. Simon you’re right the WA boys did fork out but that just shows their commitment to the squad and with further training camps in the up coming months they’ll be sure to fork out more, but it’s the first year with the WA coach organising things and he has made an incredible start and I feel very priveleged to play under his command. Hopefully his efforts can be matched by ours overseas.

Again to further on things from another source, mayby it was to do with money or mayby because the players were not good enough, but there is a lot of rumour going around of the nnsw players been left out due to politics YET AGAIN… for those who are in the know with vikings, you would know of the mess that has happened to nnsw recently with the heartless sackings of many employees. These sackings have also been connected to these selected players with alleged stealing of players to ffa…i know all three of these players, and i know it is not in there nature to do so, two of them had been vikings players for years, and believe some lies and rumours have been made which has had them removed from the squads…For those who watched Nationals in Sydney and saw Thiago Priori earn his Allstars award and selection in the aus squad will know he was much better than most of the squad selected, why was he dropped? This all starts to sound like a typical vikings conspiracy?

you do know that Thiago does not have an Australian Passport?
Mar 7, 2011, 1:28 pm
Why Select him then? Vikings futsal tours dont need Australian passports anyway i know of juniors who have gone on tours with other passports…we all know ur a vikings employee “falcao” you will do anything to change the story!
