Futsal coach Jean Yves Galinie has confirmed that Tupuji Majik Futsal captain Junior Malas will captain Vanuatu in the OFC Futsal competition kicks off next Monday in Fiji.
Young Junior Malas will be captaining a Vanuatu Futsal side that includes Fenedy Masauvakalo, Chikau Mansale, as well as Tafea defender Freddy Vava. All three have led Vanuatu at one time or the other ahead of Malas.
Junior Malas deserves it as much as anyone else in the Vanuatu squad because of his committment to Futsal in Port Vila until today.
Malas told his players in one training session few days ago that they must think seriously when they face Kiribati, New Zealand and Fiji in group A.
This is Young Malas third competition and he is looking forward to lead Vanuatu for the first time in his life and said,”Teams are preparing well a head and we must make sure that we play well because you never know how Kiribati play.” On paper they are the weak team but the full result comes after the final whistle so we must prepare well.”
Vanuatu will fly out this Sunday to Fiji and play their first match against Kiribati on Tuesday and head coach Galinie said their aim is to reach the final of the OFC futsal competition
