This week’s Junior Sports Star nominee said she didn’t even know what the sport was when she was first encouraged to play.
“It didn’t matter that I didn’t know what it was,” she said.
“It just looked fun, fast and I wanted to try it out.
“It’s a really social game and I get to learn a lot of tricks and polish up my skills which helps in both Futsal and soccer.”
Her mum, Penny Huang, said she was extremely proud of her skilful daughter.
“And to see the skill the other girls possess is exciting,” she said.
Melissa has competed in national competitions for Futsal and has reached the grand final in the under 15s NSW competition for soccer.
She also took part in the NSW state titles for soccer, with her team winning.
