In a major move for the sport of futsal in Australia, a number of Northern N.S.W. clubs, led by the high profile Hunter Valley Strikers in Newcastle, have now joined with Vikings Futsal.

This move, totalling around 6000 players, means Vikings Nothern N.S.W. are now represented all down the coastline, with Clubs covering the area from Tweed Heads in the north to the Central Coast on Sydney’s doorstep.

This alignment has many benefits for players & the sport as a whole in Australia. At the forefront of this is the merging together of a vast amount of futsal experience via a number of top level coaches, referees & administrators, including George Poulos, General Manager of Hunter Futsal, Soccer & Sports, who will be the areas Development & Coaching Officer.

In addition to this list of Clubs in the Hunter region, Vikings have also extended their coverage across in land northern N.S.W., with the commencement of Clubs in Glenn Innes & Armidale.

In the not too distant future, Vikings are very optimistic of establishing even more Clubs within these growing rural regions of Australia.

Coinciding with this increase of members, the first Northern N.S.W. State Club Titles will be held in Newcastle on the weekend of the 29th & 30th October. Teams are expected to travel from all parts to enjoy the quality facilities & hospitality the novocastrians have to offer, highlighted by their world class beaches, vineyards & night life.

With this move, plus the joining of N.S.W. Futsal based in Sydney and the formation of Western Australia Futsal, Vikings playing strength & talent pool will have increased significantly, making it by far the largest futsal organisation in Australia.
