The FUTSAL action was fast and furious, with some players taking a “no prisoners” approach in the opening round of the Mount Isa competition at the basketball courts on Friday night.

Communication was not an issue as those on the bench were more than happy to offer tactics and advice to those sweating it out on the court.

Co-ordinator Helen Harper said she was pleased with the number of teams nominated for this season.

There were some sensational goals and an equal number of great saves.

The sauna-like atmosphere on the night saw the reserves used regularly.

Results: Young Guns d Goal Diggers 8-4; Odies d Tie Hards 3-1, Pink Ladies v Roos 4-4. Reggies Rejects d WTF 7-5, Stewillcarryus d The Dogs Bollocks 5-1, Dark Horses v Atlas Lions 5-4. K-Team won on forfeit.
