Enfield Rovers vs Campbelltown Quake (NSW)
Match Reports from Enfield Rovers for their Round 2 matches in the NSW Premier League
05 October, 2011
Round 2 was not as favourable as the first round, with only 3 teams getting a result. 12 Boys and 16 Girls continued their winning ways, while the Men returned to form with a great win.
In many of the remaining games we could have reversed the result with a bit of luck. I watched most of the 16 Boys and if you count the clear opportunities, we were way ahead, but unfortunately these were not converted.
The Youth were severely depleted, with a very small bench, while Quake had the biggest bench I have ever seen. We got off to flying start leading 4-0 in very short time. But Quake were able to grind back the goals as our players started to fatigue. It did not help matters when one of our players was injured. Eventually Quake ran out 6-5, but a gallant effort from our Youth.
16 Girls continued their good form, controlling the game from the outset. They outplayed the Quake girls for most of the game, and were leading 3-0 well into the second half. 2 quick golas by Quake did make the last 5 minutes interesting but the girls won through.
