New court at Arena for Futsal Development Program (WA)
Football West Futsal Development program news
15 October, 2011
Football West is pleased to announce that due to popular demand, a third court at Arena Joondalup has become available for use!
The Term 4 program is limited to just 12 places, so it is strictly a first come, first served basis.
Futsal (football played indoors with a small, heavy ball) is high-speed football, with spectacular match situations and remarkable creativity. Futsal is a game for quick thinking and technical ingenuity. Apart from its appeal as a discipline in its own right, Futsal has a great value as a grassroots activity for developing players skill and ability.
The Football West Futsal Development Program (FDP) is an intensive eight week program which focuses on the technical aspects of the game. The major emphasis of the FDP focuses on the four functional game skills; running with the ball, striking the ball, first touch and one v one’s in defending and attacking as well as challenging players with many forms of small sided football. All players between 7 and 13 years of age are encouraged to attend the FDP to improve their skills!
Each player receives 8 sessions with over 12 hours of football coaching by fully accredited Football West coaches and adhering to the Football West and Football Federation Australia National Football Curriculum.
