The top two ranking teams in the Women’s Futsal Premier League have been held to draws as Round 11 of the competition took place last week. Leaders Woden Valley were surprisingly held 2-2 by Players FC but nearest chasers, Boomerangs FS, failed to take advantage of the leaders slip-up drawing 1-1 with Belconnen United. Woden remains six points clear at the top.

Goals from Julia De Angelis and Emma Thornton appeared to have kept Woden on track in their fixture with Players FC but a double from Rhianna Goldstein ensured that the points would be evenly split at two apiece. The result enabled Players FC to keep on the coat-tails of Belconnen United. The Blue Devils draw with the Boomerangs was achieved despite goal scorer Bronwyn Studman being sent off late in the match. Amanda Aurousseau scored the Boomerangs only goal of the evening.

In other matches, goals from Aniko Berguno, Shona Robson and Michelle Thompson saw El Diva Belwest claim a 3-0 win over Belwest Foxes and a Brittany Tully hat-trick was the highlight for Gungahlin United Suns as they saw off Tuggeranong United 6-2. Kiley Green (2) and Laura Sofoulis were the other Suns scorers with Kristy Helmers bagging a double for Tuggeranong.
