Providing a local club for inner west futsal players will continue to be the main focus of Sydney Futsal Club next season.
The Marrickville-based club made its debut in the NSW Super League this season, with the women’s first grade team making the semi-finals.
The club’s Lorenzo D’Addona said an academy for under-10 players would be introduced next season after nine teams – from under-12s to seniors – played this season.
“We’re looking to get involved with local schools next season and expand the club,” D’Addona said. “We’ve also made a link with Manchester Futsal Club in the UK, which will help with player and coach development. About 60-70 per cent of our players are based in the inner west.”
