Four teams unfortunately unable to win their respective Grand Finals in the NSW Super League
Heartbreaking was the only word West City Crusaders officials could say after all four of their teams lost their grand finals at the Dural Sport and Leisure Centre last Saturday.
Club president Warren Ladd said despite the losses everyone was proud of the teams’ efforts.
“They were quite heartbreaking results given the high expectations leading into the day,” Ladd said.
“They were all gruelling matches, especially the U16 girls, who went down 5-1 conceding late goals to blow out the score.
“The open men’s clash was an absolute dynamite game, with us coming back from 2-0 down to take the match into extra time and lose on penalties.
“Nevertheless we are extremely proud of our teams. We had four in the grand finals and seven out of nine in the semi-finals. I think that is an achievement on its own.”
Ladd is confident the teams can come back stronger than ever.
“It will be a rebuilding year next season,” he said.
