15 top level Futsal Referees named in two groups to cover the F-League
The New South Wales Referees Association (NSWFRA) announced 15 match officials from New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia have been selected to participate in the the 2012 Hummel F-League, with a further 10 emerging match officials from New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory allocated to a development talent pool.
NSWFRA Director of F-League Referees Gavin Lee said the match officials selected reflected the depth of experience and commitment Australia’s futsal referees had to offer.
“As the first national futsal league since the late 1990s the Hummel F-League is a new and unique challenge for the best referees in the country,” Lee said.
“This competition is a very welcome addition to the existing pathway for top level futsal referees in Australia and I am sure the match officials we have selected will be up to the task,” Lee said.
The eight members of the A Panel are expected to control the majority of the competition’s fixtures with B Panel referees in a supporting role. The Talent Pool has been established to provide emerging young referees with valuable exposure to high level competition.
“This is the first chance for many of our referees to truly test their skills in a high level competition over an extended period beyond their respective State Leagues,” Lee said.
“We’ll be monitoring all of the match officials’ progress through their on pitch performances and training programs to ensure the refereeing in the 2012 Hummel F-League is to the highest possible standard,” Lee said.
