Kurukuru coach: So far so good (Solomon Islands)

The Solomon Islands national futsal squad’s trainings in preparations for the FIFA Futsal World Cup, is in good momentum, according to the Kurukuru head coach, Dickson Kadau.

Mr Kadau told Star Sports yesterday the training squad has been under intensive training since the recent visit of Spanish national futsal coach.

He said they have been going through what was taught to them by the Spanish coach and assured that all players have so far adapted to the drills and knowledge they got from the Spanish coach.

“So far so good, attendance for trainings has been great.

“We got delayed for a week when a volleyball course was held now we are back to normal,” he said.

He however admitted after the weeklong volleyball course, the fitness level of most players have dropped.

“This week we are working on regaining the fitness.

“Next week we will be back to our tactical training,” he said.

The Kurukuru squad is currently undergoing one training session per day.

Kadau said in a few months time trainings will be more intensive with two training sessions per day.
