The New South Wales Futsal Referees Association (NSWFRA) recently ended its 2011/12 year by holding its Annual General Meeting on Friday 25 May 2012.

Outgoing NSWFRA President Gavin Lee chaired his final meeting of the Association and ended his second term by thanking the membership for its support over his tenure.

“The last four years have certainly been challenging, but highly rewarding,” Lee said. “From bringing our finances and reporting into top shape, to making our referees fitter, increasingly capable and more professional, it has been a very productive period for the NSWFRA.”

“I’d like to wish my successor and all of the next Management Committee all the best,” Lee added.

Former FIFA Futsal Referee and current AFC Elite Referee Assessor Adrian Tamplin was awarded the status of Life Member in recognition of his contribution to futsal refereeing in New South Wales over the past 20 years. In a short acceptance speech, Tamplin thanked the membership for the honour, speaking of his role as a coach and mentor for both younger referees in New South Wales and the very best in Asia.

Northern Beaches referee Wayne Ranson was elected the Association’s new President, whilst incumbent Treasurer Grant South and Junior Vice President Nick Backo were elected for a second term. Floor Members Greg Webster and Jonathon Moore will also continue for another year in their roles.

Wayne Ranson said he was looking forward to getting to work to make the 2012/13 year a successful one for the Association.

“I’m pleased to have been elected to President of the NSWFRA am eagerly anticipating planning the upcoming year with the new Management Committee,” Ranson said.

“With the game of futsal continuing to grow and the inception of a new elite competition in The Hummel F-League 2012/13 is set to be another big one for the NSWFRA,” Ranson concluded.
