Match reports from Round 4 of the Western Australia State League
Samba Boys Too Good For Belmont Nile Flow
Scarborough Samba Boys 5 defeated Belmont Nile Flow 0
The Scarborough Samba Boys moved up a spot this week to 3rd, after a 5 Nil thrashing of the new and struggling Belmont side. The inconsistency of a regular side each week has made it very difficult for Belmont to find a winning combination. The depth of the side comes from their outdoor team, however being unable to perform on the indoor court has seen their form drop to it’s worst so far.
Unconcerned by the internal problems the opposition may have been having, The Samba Boys went on to score their most convincing win since the first round against The Stirling Spaniards. They have now introduced some new players who should shake up the team and help them get back to winning ways. This was definitely a good start.

Round 4: South Fremantle MC Win The Match Of The Round
South Fremantle MC 4 defeated Calibre 12 Melville 3
2 Red Cards in 2 weeks for Calibre 12 and this time it cost them the game. It seems they did not learn from last week, when Sachin was sent off after a hand ball prevented a goal for Belmont. This week, the player to do the same was Phil Ragan, who will next week have to watch from the side as his team mate Sachin did this week.
As mentioned this game had it all. Some great goals with plenty of back and fourth action. However, in the end, the crowd was left applauding both the sides who really showed how exciting Futsal can be. Especially from a neutral perspective, which is what many of the crowd were.
Many times we have seen Diego Garcia win the game for his side, but unfortunately his goals were not enough this week. The South Fremantle side had plenty of subs which made it a great team effort. Leading scorer for South Fremantle, Allan Armstrong, hopes his team can continue their great form into the big game next week against the league leaders, Fremantle Muita Calma.
Fremantle Muita Calma Still In Control
Fremantle Muita Calma 2 defeated Stirling Spaniards 0
Taking on the defending Champions was never going to be an easy task, but The Stirling Spaniards showed that they too can play some great posession Futsal. Unfortunately they were unable to break down the defence of Muita Calma and found little scoring opportunities. Muita Calma were missing leading goalscorer, Tiago Fracasso and main Target, Nestor Fonseca. Many had the feeling that this could be the game their incredible winning streak comes to an end. However, having Captain Luke Tidy still in sensational form and leading the side you can never count them out.
The goals came from Daniel Cappellaro (D10) and Saeed Danesh, but it was far from an easy win. Another great game with 2 sides playing some great Futsal. Expect some big things from The Spaniards who seem to be improving each week and look to have a solid, regular, starting 5.
