Great weekend of futsal, makes for an exciting Melbourne round with Dural playing Boomerangs and Vipers first and second rounds down there. Hopefully the Boomerangs can get up in the first game to keep the competition alive!

This is not a true reflection on how Futsal in Victoria is. Its sad to see the bottom 3 are all Victorian teams.
bottom 2 are not even 2nd division qty overall & st albans are a political bomb & needs a massive clean up.
perhaps a better scanning process may be developed next season.
Absense of inner city & maccabi leaves Dural with the keys to the store.

keep in mind that its not necessarily the strongest clubs that are in the f-league. its the ones that could afford it.
does anyone know how much it is costing clubs to enter this year. with flights and accomodation across 5 series i assume it would be in excess of 10K per team?

Guys if you look at the full roster of players in the F-League you will see that the best players in the country are playing.
13 of the 14 Futsalroos that went to Dubai are playing.
Jarrod Basger – Dural
Fernando De Moraes – Vic Vipers
Daniel Fogarty (NSW) - Boomerangs
Gregory Giovenali – Dural
Andres Gomez – East Coast
Renagi Ingram – East Coast
Dean Lockhart – Dural
Danny Ngaluafe – Parramatta
Angelo K. – Boomerangs
Tobias Seeto – Dural
Peter Spathis – East Coast
Lachlan Wright – Parramatta
Christopher Zeballos – East Coast
In addtion there are a dozen or so other leading players with clubs. These include Fulton, the Cattanach brothers, Caro, Da Silva, Cooper, Symington, Tua Cao, Robbie Maiorana , Dylan Maloney, Takuya Umeda and many many more.
As for no Inner City – Most of there top players are with other clubs (Caro, Da Silva, Dianoosh, Vladim M etc)
As for no Maccarbi – There two best players are with other F-League clubs (Basger, Fulton), Keith is not playing and Downie is overseas.
As for the strongest clubs not playing, most of their players are with other F-League teams.
East Coast is made up of the best of Inner City, Sydney City and Inner West Magic. As for Quake we have Gav injuried, and Symington+Boomer are with Dural. As for Enfield Lachlan is with Parramatta and Shervin is unavalble.
As for the poor showing by St Albans in Series 2 and 3 expect that to turn around in Series 4 with the return of key players. Despite 3 losses in Canberra they genuinely pushed Dural for large portions of the game and were just 1-0 down against East Coast at half time.
As for handing the key to the store to Dural, they are red hot favorites but if Boomerangs can bring a full squad to Series 4 in Melbourne it is game on.
Bottom line yes there are some weak clubs, but by and large we are looking at a comp that brings together 90%+ of the best players from each state……and thats a good thing.

In addition to what futsaldad wrote there are a few other Maccabi players in the league – Doz, Lev and Frank are playing for Heart and Denny for Boomerangs.
Judging from the V-league videos I actually think this is the best the Victorians can offer at the moment. The F-league with its international court and stop clock is a very different game to the small court and even a regular NSWPL match. With matches lasting 70-80 minutes tactical discipline is key and Dural and Boomerangs have been the best at this and it shows in their results. The Victorian players are technically good but apart from Vipers they generally haven’t been able to match the others in a tactical sense and playing on the small courts in the V-league isn’t going to help them with this. They’ve also travelled poorly and no Victorian team has beaten a non-Victorian team since series 1.

1st of all dingo, Hearts, Jaguars nor St Albans play in the V-league only Vic Vipers play week in week out. as for that is the best vic has to offer, victoria has done well at the last 2 nationals & inner city were minor premiers last season in the f-league.
As i said in my previous post, this is definately not a true reflection on how Futsal is in Victoria!
Only 1 v-league club is represented that is Vic Vipers FC the others don’t play as far as the v-league goes.

bit harsh on those other maccabi players saying they werent the best in the team futsaldad? interesting how you say Downie was one of there best players, but if i remember correctly they won the whole thing last year without him pretty much. i think you should get up to speed with whats going on before making comments like that, which just pisses people off

I agree Basger and Fulton have been amazing. but the whole Maccabi team was outstanding. afterall it doesnt come down to 2 players but an entire squad that accomplishes everything. so next time you try be little a club and its players make sure you know what you are talking about.

Mate I meant no disrespect to the Maccabi club. All the players and coaches are quality.
The point I was trying to make is that just because Maccabi (and other clubs) are not represented in the F-League this year doesn’t mean the comp is lower standard. In fact 6 of the Maccabi players are still playing F-League, as are other top players from other clubs.
But I will stand by my comment that Basger and Fulton were their best players.
Jul 24, 2012, 6:04 pm
fair enough. and i dont disagree with you on fulton and basger. 2 of the best players in this country

I can see one keeper conceded 15 goals in a game he should have booked out no accommodation and slept in the net

Thanks for all the videos futsaldad. Everyone i know who can’t get to the games enjoy them too. Ignore these Maccabi supporters.

I was in Canberra on the Sunday and it wonderful to see the F league in full swing, it will only get better and stronger the Victorian sides are to commended for providing teams and it is also great to see current Futsalroos and other talented players blended throughout different teams. If the Futsal community keep supporting the F league and providing ideas to market the sport we will have a great National League that will compete with the NBL. Thanks to futsaldad who video the games, brilliant !!
