Royals hit rock bottom as Vipers stumble & Lions break clear at the top
FC Collingwood 7-4 Elsternwick FC
Round 10, almost at the halfway point of the season, kicked off with the Royals facing the Woods. Both teams stuck to the bottom of the table and desperate for 3 points came out well, Elsternwick looking slightly stronger went in to half-time with a 2-1 lead. Collingwood got on top in the second half and the Royals had an all too familiar feeling, fading away and copping 6. In the end going down 7-4.

Metropolitan FC 6-6 Albert Park FC
Next up was the Sky Blues up against an underperforming Albert Park side. Albert Park surprised their opposition taking the lead 5-3 at the break. The Sky Blues struggled to get back in to the game until late in the second half when they rallied and managed to break even at 6-6, Metropolitan then continued to push and almost snatched the win but could not get there.

FC Prahran 3-5 Pascoe Vale FC
Third match of the night involved the Warriors and the Lions. This fixture is renowned for putting on a good contest and this match was no exception, a tight contest saw the game 1-1 at the break. Both sides grappled but ultimately Pascoe Vale were too good and ran out 5-3 winners over a resilient Prahran.

Hume FC 5-4 Vic Vipers FC
Before the game Hume would have most certainly settled for a good performance but by half-time they were looking for 3 points, leading the Vipers 1-0. The second half was a tight affair but in the end Hume wanted it too much and the Vipers could not get the better of them. A 5-4 loss puts the Vic Vipers 5 points behind the still undefeated Lions.

CF Brunswick 1-6 FC Balwyn
Next match of the night was a captain-less CF Brunswick side who had a tough task ahead of them against an in form Bullets. By the conclusion of the first half Balwyn had a 1-0 advantage. The Bloods could not keep in touch as Balwyn stretched out the margin to 6-1.

Ashburton FC 10-6 FC Essendon
The Green Machine looking to establish themselves in the top half of the table with a win and the Wanderers looking to push away from relegation zone. Ashburton led 7-2 at the close of the first half and Essendon couldn’t make up lost ground, going down 10-6.
