Heart runs first Coach the Coach and Skills Clinic (VIC)
A very successful initiative from Melbourne Heart
The inaugural Melbourne Heart Futsal coach the coach was run in Bairnsdale (East Gippsland) on the 5th July, followed by a clinic the following day. The coach the coach was attended by a group of 18 coaches, and was an introduction to the latest methods in coaching Futsal along with the technical and tactical aspects of the modern game.
Assistant coach Sam Mlynarz (originally from Bairnsdale) conducted the free coaching clinic, with Melbourne Heart/Cobras players Adrian Fruscalzo, David Filonzi and Matt Vragovski assisting and demonstrating for the participants. Overall over 40 young 8-12 year olds (including a group of 10 females) participated in the clinic and couldn’t stop smiling throughout the 3.5 hour clinic.
Bairnsdale club president and former FIFA referee Fred Vanderslik was full of praise for the Melbourne Heart contribution and mentioned that “The contribution provided by the Heart was fantastic and all who attended, enjoyed it so much”. Fred also mentioned his thanks to the Melbourne Heart/Cobras connection that the “kids got alot out of the event. Thanks heaps to the Melbourne heart Futsal for their time and commitment”.
Melbourne Heart Futsal would like to thank Fred Vanderslik and Norm Severs for their organizational and logistical contribution and it is hoped that Futsal in Bairnsdale grows to the levels that it used to be.
