More on the Tiger Street Soccer Champions Street Vipers
Winning coach Zvi Bendavid shares his thoughts on the Tiger Street Soccer championship, and more pics of the event too
03 July, 2012
As covered in yesterdays news item, Street Vipers won the first Tiger Street Soccer championships.
The Coach of the Street Vipers Sylvain Bendavid shared his thoughts with F4A on the event and his winning team.
“The beauty about winning this event is that we were the wild card into the Final 16. Our knowledge of the small sided game stood out from the rest of the teams.”
“Note that the Sydney FC team who we played had some brilliant outdoor players, but the experience of Lachlan Wright, Yavuz Ekinci, Robert Foti, Tim Mascarello and the youngster Luke Clifford who just made the age cut (18 and over) was too much for the opposition.”
“We came to the tournament prepared to win and our star goal keeper Roberto Maiorana showed why he is one of the best keepers in the small game. He was quick with his feet and hands as well as adapting to the non stop action.”
“Our wild card Eugene Foresberg performed beyond the call of duty scoring some great goals.”
“The win was a dedication to the Futsal family as players were from the NSW Premier League teams Mascot Vipers, Enfield Rovers and Inner West Magic.”
“I thank Tiger beer for allowing me to enter a team.”
“Note that if we win the tournament in Malaysia, we move on to the next stage in Vietnam for some big bucks. As the coach and organiser I have to say that the boys were professional in their approach as well as being a great embassadors to the small game.”
Futsal4all congratulates the Street Vipers and in particular Zvi, who have done a great job representing Futsal. We wish them the best of luck in Malaysia.
